So this basically throws Creativity out the window.
This is a RP server, this just limits the RP even more.
As what lots of people said, its not OORP if it is RPed right.

Against it how? The character doesn't have to conform, only the player does, the character just has to RP losing one ship and getting another.


Noone has given a reason beyond "whah whah!"

The point of the above is just to show what would happen to great characters and a good story if storyline went out the window for favor of only playing the core roles.

I do believe that you are attempting to promote an agenda of yours, which is entirely unfair, considering the topic at hand isn't directly related to your personal crusade.

My "agenda" as you put it is to be fair to everyone, across the board. Why are you against that?

On the Kirk analogy, however, one could ask 'Wow, why is Kirk in charge of a Borg Cube?! He must have done something awesome to get one of them!'

I envy the klingon BoP he had in two movies more, nothing is as cool as a BoP.

I'm concerned that this ruling will kill off folks like the Phantoms, who are largely played by admins, actually.

How would it kill off the phantoms exactly? It would simply limit their ship and equipment choices the same as for everyone else.

Still waiting for a real reason that this kills RP other than "whah!"

Actually his point works for the admins pov better because:

A. Juni, Trent and King are still Juni, Trent and King no matter what ship they are in. The characters stay the same if you modify SP to put them in anything.

This underlines the trivial nature of the ship choice.

B. Already Disco has restrictions on ships that SP doesn't have, and they improve the server rather than hurt it.


@ Bluntpencil Fair is when everyone is treated the same, not the current situation where some people are allowed oorp ships and others are sanctioned for it.

What the admins propose is fair, the current situation that you support is not.

If Wesley is separated from his ship for too long, he dies. The ship itself is infected by a Nomad Power Cell, which has telepathically altered Wesley both physically - he's stronger, has more attuned senses - and mentally - he's a stone cold evil guy. If he's apart from his ship too long, he'll crave for it's presence like an Outcast needs Cardamine, and then die.

I lose the ship, I lose the char. How's that?
