Though Akuma is continuing his neverending crusade against the admins here, that's exactly what's happening.
One of these times, I would love it if the admins took a day or two to think before posting one of these snippy notices that get everyone into a tussle, and then take it back and adjust it like they should have done it the first place.

Fixing things that are wrong, having frank and open discussions, these things help everyone here, even the admins and factions leaders.
We try to have frank and open discussions all the time, and thread after thread gets hijacked by the same argument that keeps getting dredged up. RP the 101st attack on you or stop complaining. Show yourself to be the better RPer and you'll win.
I made a post on the first page of the origional thead and my question NEVER GOT ANSWERED. I have seen admins looking at this thead and a few coments when it was split or things needed to tone down. If the admins want to establish RP proceduers (which they shouldn't) they have to give more guidance then a 3 paragraph post and then leaving us to feed off each other.

Hmmm, I tried to rp my falling out with Unselie on the server and got a 15 day ban for my trouble. Go figure.
The "frank and open" part doesn't happen here except within very limited confines. Heck, I thought we were getting somewhere in flood the last time until Del locked the thread.
Also, it's not a hijack. Sure I point these discussions toward the bigger picture, but it's all the same topic, it's all about who gets to club who with their RP and who doesn't, and the why behind it. That's the core of all these discussions, and instead of trampling around the edges the admins should just come out together and address the whole issue, not just one little part like they did here.
Plus they should discuss it openly beforehand. Where's that transparency they promised? Remember how I got flamed for suggesting they start then and there with it instead of this nebulous promise that they were working on it?

Exactly, but that would limit them in the future to staying within those boundaries so it won't happen, just like when people post here for a rules clarification begging them for an answer and get nothing, leaving those of us who are sanctionable to try to figure it out by who they do sanction and who they don't, which is a big conflicting mess..

And as I said I know someone I could ask, someone who doesn't play FL and has been a well respected moderator on several RP related boards. Someone known to be fair, if he's still around and willing.

Some big ifs there. And playing Freelancer, being familiar with Discovery is probably high on the list of job requirements.
So far it looks like your suggestions include 'my mate who isn't here'.

Actually I would say that playing freelancer and being familiar with disco isn't high on the list of what you need to be fair, quite the opposite in fact. Not being tied to a faction or preset belief would allow fairness that someone with 1000 posts and a faction won't have.
I honestly believe they could filter for active players, pick some by random, offer it to them and do just as well as they have done by picking favorites.
