Here is my Fonts file. The fonts are actually good for the game with 1920x1080 resolution.
Simply rename the old font file to something like "old font.ini" or whatever and put this one in the folder. If you dont like it delete this file and rename the "old font.ini" back to font.ini
The players' names are bold (just like the res was 1024x768). The two tabs in server browser overlay. "LOADING" text higher than center of the charging bar (although 0.1 seconds before it dissapears, it looks like it's in CENTER lol). Player status windows (world and weapons) aren't in the edges... What's the point of this resolution then?!
Oh, and one more "bug" in this resolution. When I'm at a Vendor (buying weapons for example), the names are too long to fit in their cases, but they're being displayed anyway, so the name is a bit longer than the casing they were supposed to fit in.
Freelancer just crashed on me... It never did that when I was using 1024x768:P. I'm using Windows 7 btw.
Is there any way to fix these?:D1024x768 is s*** on my widescreen >.>
It's always going to be a bit sketchy with games this old trying to work them into Widescreen, as with many games there are some forms of stretches or errors along the way. I assume you also refer to this regarding the text going off the box, as far as I understand that is fixable but will likley require an update from Cannon.
While some of these issues may or may not be fixed, they are minor, most can agree that it's playable and indeed better than 4:3 resolutions for those of us graced with a widescreen monitor.
But, for example, if someone is waiting for me outside a planet/base, to kill me, and I just logon, I can't do anything else but launch to space and THEN re-dock in order to see the entire menu:). That's rubbish:P.
They can do a OMGOMGOMG mod but they can't fix the resolution issues rofl.:P

Just start singleplayer before instead, you don't even have to launch from Erie, just start the game and go back to the main menu afterwards
' Wrote:Go play the game, within the given limitations. That is how role play games are played. Not by trying to work around those limitations or whining about them.
