The idea with flashlights is down.
But what about loading a .jpg file or whatever format picture on the texture of the respective ship? I mean, NPC ships flying in busy places where players can see them and their advertising image. I have no idea if this is possible but it would rock.

-Well when do you see normal people from planets in space?
Why advertise in space while no one would see it where it needs to be.
And did anyone ever see a trading company make a advertisement here on uh Earth. And advertising in space would cost insane amounts of credits for the one who wants to advertise.

- The custom skins?
The cargo pod idea I like since containers should be used more in my opinion. And have like USI on a container would be nice. and GMG on tanker containers. Yeah I like it.

- The lights idea of making a picture or anything.
I already hate people that like their ship as Christmas trees and it creates lag so in my opinion "No way".

Edit: Having trains for every transport faction would be nice to. Like USI trains will have USI on the side of the ship in the skin. Like container vessels have now on Earth like MSC, MOL etc.

Sounds like a cool idea, but i think potentially it would be more trouble than it's worth

i can imagine though somone filling the slots with massive strobe's and writing out thw word; "Stealth"

Or..the words-[ given enough hard points] " YOU CAN't SEE ME !" with massive strobes... if this idea is put forward i would like to reserve those.. Lol and.. maybe... " NO U ! "

how about we make billboards next to the trade lanes. shipping companies can slap their ad on them or some such

they would be indestructible stations, someone (like ageira for example, since they take care of the lanes anyway) could use them for profit. military recruitment "LN wants you! contact <name> to apply!"

I think everyone or most of us in here has played also the Crossfire mod.
When you first dock from the planet *whatever name it was* you see that
"billboard" with the server rules (both in SP/MP).

How about that one? Much easier then "destructible bases" or "shiny discoballs"

I've played Crossfire. The billboard you see is when you undock from Manhattan, and although that one just displays the rules/clans, it could display much more. The Tekagi's Treasure mod also has this sort of thing. You can see in both mods, the fact that those can also rotate or scroll the ads, making one billboard use more than just one screen for the ad.

You could make some ingame messages (like those you see now already) and let people pay real money for em, that would bring some more cash in for the server (Like I read somewhere to ensure Cannon can drink beer)
