Naturally I can't expect the dev team to spill the beans on 'everything', but there's a few key questions, in my opinion, that would have drastic effects on anybody trying to roleplay in or around Gallia come the next version. Therefore, if I may be entitled to an answer, I might ask:
- Can we expect any systems outside of Gallia to come under GRN control? (bots, battleship bases, etc)
- Can we expect any Gallic core systems to be opened up? (One or several sealed jump gates are no longer sealed)
- Will a new system be created for the Council should Languedoc fall, or would they gain a new station or base elsewhere instead?
- In the event systems fall, will all jumpgates and lanes automatically fall under GRN control (and thus shoot at everybody), stay the same, or become neutral?
- In the event systems that have only jumpholes are occupied, will alternate jumphole routes be created to ensure safe passage if the original holes are guarded?
I can't expect the world but I'm wondering what can be reasonably leaked here. There's a lot of possible problems that can occur, like shutting down everything in Tau-23 and turning all Gallic systems into a bonifide "nobody except GRN" zone in which it's impossible to survive the bot onslaught. I'd figure the gameplay within Gallia in terms of the unlawfuls would be taken into consideration, but isn't it equally important to consider outsiders who wish to interact with the Gallics, who could be both pushed aside and indeed forced out of the entire situation?

Nomad Space.

Yes, to reveal Nomad Space.
- Will a new system be created for the Council should Languedoc fall, or would they gain a new station or base elsewhere instead?
Yes, but it is taken over by the Nomads.

Nomad control.

It may very well be, but if nobody's given a chance to plan even a little bit ahead the next thing you know:
- Any Sirians trying to deal with the Gallic Unlawfuls suddenly can't do a damn thing lest they be shot to pieces at every jumphole
- Groups like the ICMG, IMG, and the rest suddenly have no major site to mine
- The outlying systems get cut and suddenly there's no way for unlawfuls/non-house players to travel anywhere unless they go all the way around the sector from the other side; or they could try to sneak by the houses, being shot along the way
- The Gaians have the jumphole to Lewis completely exposed to a wave of Gallic lolwut battleships
- Anybody with ideas about expanding the Gallic area of things beyond a stagnate set of stereotypical companies and a handful of unlawfuls has to pack up and leave since it's a GRN only zone for miles on end
' Wrote:Back on topic... shouldn't we worry about Gallia gaining some modicum of activity before we start expanding it?
It hasn't had much activity because of the way it was laid out, to say nothing of server population constraints, yet the story behind it was set up to progress nonetheless. The update should change things; I'm questioning if they'll be "fixing" or at least lessening the problems that made it this way.

I think that the fact that for all intents and purposes Gallia has very little impact on anything outside of Gallia contributes to the lack of activity. Right now, there's Gallia, and then there's Sirius, and never the twain shall meet. You'd think that the whole "OMG LONG LOST HOUSE!" would merit more of a response, no? As it stands, aside from a few factions running limited roleplay events, e.g. diplomacy, there is no real conflict going on there. Too insular.
Gallia, right now, is barren and empty because there's very little reason to go there. I'm all for giving reason. Full-scale opening of the outer systems, and major interactions between Gallia and Sirius, would be the biggest boon to activity that I can think of aside from putting in a major trade route. Let the GRN spill out into Sirius. Something shocking that grabs Sirius' attention by the balls. Though I hesitate to say it, maybe GRN sabotage on a major station in preparation for an invasion?
