Hello. My name is Lumire, and i come to the zoner alliance with a request. I have dedicated my life to protecting one man, a certain Jimmy Patterson. On his long range forays while off duty, i have discovered to my great embarrasment that i do not have a craft capable of keeping pace with his vessal. No snubcraft or freighter i have can match the operational range. I therefore would like to request the use of one "conference" class gunboat hull. I shall provide my own weapons armor and equipment.

The vessal shall not be used to claim bountys, or to attack house governments. The vessal will only be used in defence of My Primary goal, Protecting Mr. Patterson, and myself. You may ask why i do not contact the BHG core or any of the house governments. The concept is simple. I require a vessal which is not banned in most houses, and i wish to not incite any political fallout upon the one i protect.

To summary: what i am asking for is simple. The use of one conference class hull. Zoner weapons will not be used, Nor will weapons from any specific political interest.

I await your reply. If granted the Callsign will simply be "Lumire". I do not name my vessals as it inhibits judgement on taking damage for my primary.

• Only opening fire in self defense, no preemptive first strike

I accept the conditions as set. However, i would like to inquire about the fifth clause, as it is rather vague. One could easily argue simply taking off puts it in a positon to defend itself, from the number of pirates roaming the skies.

Therefore i would like to explain my interpretation, to make sure it is in the light it was intended to be.

You ask me for the fifth clause to attempt to disuade my client from flying into high risk areas where an attack would be almost certain, and you ask me to avoid those areas if at all possible with this vessal. Is that what was intended?

Also, the clauses do tend to contradict eachother. One says only fire in self defence, yet the other says escort only. How can i escort ships if i cannot fire my guns without being struk myself? DO i have to tell my client that "too bad, he hasnt attacked my vessal yet"?

It seems rather like a catch-22.

Clause number 4 means that neither you nor your charge are allowed to start a fight. If you or your charge get attacked, then you are free to defend him and yourself.

Clause number 5 is intended to avoid having a pilot deliberately prance his ship around an enemy base, "stumble" into enemy high security systems (aka Home or Guard systems) or similar nonsense, to end up being able to claim it was all just self-defence.


Above all, we expect common sense from those we grant access to our technology.
