Captain Peterson here, on board the ZDFS-Norfolk Island. I am afraid I have some worrying news. The Major... he's gone missing. Look, let me fill you in.
We're currently located on Planet Primus, in the Omicron Kappa system. Major wanted to see if we could recruit any of the locals into the ZDF, perhaps even set up a Primus battalion. So, here we are. Most of the crew and the troops are staying on board the ship, apparently long term exposure to the radiation here can be hazardous.
Well, Major wanted to meet the rural tribal peoples that live away from the City, mostly on the other side of the planet. And he wants to meet them alone, and on foot, because he doesn't want to scare them or intimidate them. So, we set down a good few kilometres away from where one of the settlements was supposed to be, and off he went.
I knew it was a bad idea, but you know how he is. And we haven't heard anything from him for three days now. His communicator isn't responding, and we can't locate him. Now, he took with him a good amount of rations, camping gear, and he is well armed, but I still felt it best to inform you of the situation. We'll keep searching, and let you know when he turns up.
This is very troubling news. Keep me posted on anything new. I understand the the Norfolk has sufficient man power to assist in the search and rescue operation needed to find the Major. If you need any other assistance or man power, keep me posted. I can get a detachment re-directed from Freeport 11.
Ravenor out!

Good day Admiral, Captain Peterson here again. We have some good news, and some bad news.
The bad being that the Major is still missing, but the good being that we've found his communicator. It was found smashed, at the base of a cliff-face. It's likely he went to higher ground in an effort to establish a signal, and he dropped it somehow. It could have been simply blown from his grip, the winds can get quite violent here, what with no trees or large plants to shelter it. One of our men believes he has found some tracks that belong to the Major, so with any luck we'll catch up to him sometime tomorrow. Just keeping you informed of the changing situation.
Good to know. Keep me posted. I have re-directed a scanning ship to assist in scans of the surface as needed. It should be arriving there by the time you get this message.
Ravenor out!
