But there are two things that people don't understand.
1: Modeling a bridge would be very very easy. It probably wouldn't take half as much time as making a ship.
Texturing it would also be fairly easy, no harder than texturing a ship.
2: The reason is doesn't get done is because like Ashes mention it's an unfair advantage to people who can see and people who can't see. If you just give the Osiris a bridge, everyone will want to know why we just gave this downgrade to the Osiris and not the other capships. If it happened it would have to be every capship at the same time. But after that it will still be the same thing, this cap has better view here, and less stuff there. It's a hassle that takes more time then it's worth.

Yeah, I would appreciate new cockpits, but I agree with ashes and dart on this.
' Wrote:The problem with a Capital Ship "cockpit" is the limited FOV you'd get. You can't really get enough detail into the field size while still having enough 'window' in front of you to actually see out of.
Creating detailed cockpits for Cap Ships would render the cockpit view useless. Creating realistic cockpit views for Capital ships would only include the front window, since that's all you'd see if you were flying that Cap Ship. So essentially a Cap Ship cockpit would be exactly the same as we have now to be practicle, only it'd be a square shape.
The only Cap Ships I feel that need a custom cockpit are those with forward cannons, in the form of accurate cross hairs to help them line up and fire that forward cannon.
If you look at this ScreenShot you can see that it doesn't need to be high detailed to make it cool.

Unfair advantage? Also look at this ScreenShot. You can clearly see that a half of your view is blocked. A normal current Capship cockpit (Liberty Fighter) has full view.
As for just giving the Osiris a bridge I have already stated that if the developers want to have money for it then:
Quote:I would also like to note that if someone / a team of devs decides to give cockpits a go maybe official factions can put in a reward aswell.
As you can see many people here would like to have new cockpits and therefore I don't get your point. If they complain about them they can just turn it off in the options.
If you read my comments you would see I said having the cap bridge is a downgrade, and people who don't have it have the unfair advantage of being able to see much more than you.
Secondly, while lot of people here, in this thread want the capship bridges, this doesn't represent a majority of the Discovery community.
if there was a "bridge section" on the wiki... i d be willing to make cockpit "renders" with blank backgrounds for every ship ( with sufficient detail )
for use in RP posts etc.
but as it was said - making it an ingame "window" is mostly redundant - as what counts after all is a fair chance in pvp .... and a cockpit that shows only little space and much of the bridge makes a good RP background, but a horrible pvp experience - unless you FORCE people to fly with cockpits... which is unpractical.
