I'm finding it hard to grasp what exactly it is that you want. I know I'm pretty thick, but I can't really understand what you mean by, "white light strips in that clear blue", "Planet Grand whatever", etc.

You want a plain, light blue background with some white barsnes? In the theme of the example below perhaps?

Look at the one above you, he has the idea. No planets of stuff, just a non in-game looking banner. What I meant was this kinda theme:

Cool, what would be kinda awesome is like a more defined blue line maybe on the top of the curve as a border and as it reaches the end of the curve, it continues but fades as well. Change the text font as well. Something more impressive.

Also try and get the fade thing right, if you do you maybe a winner;)

Rectangles are underrated. And fading light color into dark has some inherit problems.
Either way, this is what it is. Feedback welcome.
