How should Zoners "behave"?

Anyways, on to my feelings on this matter.

Is the AW's RP Perfect? Hell no, but then again, whose RP is?

Yes, the AW do have very peculiar factional alignments, which by RP should not be allowed, at least not in the manner they are being conducted. However, how much does this truly hurt the community?

I agree with Mal's original post, however I really don't think it is that big of an issue. If their behavior is a bother to you, do what people did to me in the past. Ignore them.

Eventually, like me, they will change their ways just to get back into the rest of what's going on in Freelancer. Not everything requires an administrator breathing down peoples necks.

The AW has been through a lot, and no that does not give them an excuse to have skewed RP, but it is THEIR RP, not yours, not mine. We have no right to tell them how to RP it.

Besides, do you really think the Zoners would risk pissing off a faction that powerful by kicking them out? I think not. Think of it that way.

The actions Mal has described are indefencible. Many factions have been liquidated for less, and I fail to see why the AW should be treated differently. Why do you call yourselves the Zoner guard when most of the time you are attacking the Corsairs? That is completely the opposite from guarding Zoner interests.

Then they group up with allies of the Outcasts, who attack us. Taking sides in a war is very un-zoner-ish.

Now all of you shut and stop posting until he has a chance to respond.

And Dab himself told me that he is not going to gratify these posts with a response because all they are is an attempt to flame and blast the AW.

Two things with that:

1. They contradict each other
2. Why do you think he doesn't gratify us with a response? Because AW's Zonerish claims without the restrictions that should come with that just doesn't fit. That is all I can see. Of course, I am not objective, so when someone points too a more logical conclusion, I may follow.

But that is not the point, whenever this happens to another faction everyone cries stop. When it happens to AW everyone jumps on board.

I wonder why? There must be a reason, and its because there are so many anomalies from our point of view, its too inexcusable to not to react to. This has cropped up so many times, but none have resisted change as the AW. This is not right, as you cannot use a business model from the 6th century AD in the 21st century for business. AW should adapt, not just say no to everything those around them are saying.

I am not defending mate, I am going to do this any time I see I a thread like this. Why? Because making these posts time and time again...is insulting and flaming. I don't know what Dab's opinion nor do I care. And this has nothing to do with RP right now Hood. This has all to do with people acting like grown ups and to stop making big flame posts on the forums. As you can see I got warned for that thing with BestFlyer. And it made me think a bit, that these sorts of things should be done in private. This topic is full of flames and it needs to be stopped.

Put them into context before going out and saying I am contradicting myself. See I was responding to what the community knew. That being and meaning that I was saying that before all jumping and flaming Dab and whatnot wait for his response. It's likely he won't even see this post until a few more hours.

And the second was my reason as to why threads like this should not be made because he won't respond. I was making two separate points regarding the issue.


And as DO said it's THEIR RP not yours. And quite frankly I am not here to defend RP. I am here to stop flaming plain and simple. And if you want to reply with flames then do so but let it be known I don't care about the RP issues. Take them to private channels, there are many times a day where Mal is on skype and so is Dab. I'm perfectly willing to wait for Dab, or Korrd, or Alpha to respond; but right here, in the light of day. And I will respond here, in the light of day, in a civil and reasoned manner. But this doesn't go under the carpet.

It appears that a consensus is forming; which, yes, was my intention. Because, I had an inkling that I'm not the only one offended by the turning of "Zoners" into Atilla the Hun and Company.

Actually, on a technicality, the forums are the place for this. This is an issue that effects the community as a whole, and therefore it was brought to the attention of the community.

As I said, yes it is their RP and it is not our job to regulate it. They should however regulate it themselves. It is a pitty that their RP has gotten skewed, and even further so that it seems that they haven't advanced their "real" RP story. It seems that their real, long term RP story has been put on hold so they can use the Zoner name and benefits, with their RP stories benefits.

I am not siding with anyone here, I am simply putting in my thoughts. It is the call of the Asgard Warriors and their leadership in regards to what they will do with the results of this thread.

I just hope they make the proper decisions.

Sorry to stray off topic. Mal forgive me. I feel oblidged to reply.

Indeed Warhammer has used FP 4 as a RV point when rallying forces on many occassions. I simply saw it as a IMG base and did not consider the FP angle.

I have fired on enemy ships who entered into range while in FP 4 orbit. The BSG does maintain a presence at FP 4 because its a IMG base. Now it seems we have a conflict of interest as to whether we protect FP4 as a IMG base or leave it open as a Free Port.

This IS a political issue and so I will leave it to Dooms presidential authority. While I do intend to maintain a task force in the region, Doom need only say the word and I will put in place a 15K no engagement rule around the base and allow any and all to dock.

Second; Hoodlum, you've overstepped your bounds on this one. Tank Target has every right to give his opinions here, just as much as anyone. Your telling him to shut up, but you have yet to say anything to anyone else. Tank is part of AW, and has more of a right to post here than anyone save Mal for making this thread, and the AW's high command.

My View -- > (most up to date right now since I play 5/6hours every night)

HR/HF/HL (whatever they call emselfs) the guys in Vespucci are fighting SA, however..

since SA is about 2 guys n so is HR/HF/HL the hackers (ill refer to em as that now)

LSF,BSG join in too every night,
this is understandable as they are bored n want some action, so then Bushido come down n help the hackers.

But anyhow just wanted to say this been going on for 2 week never has AW been there.

But yeh BSG do blockade FP4, and this is a little narrow minded, they assume they are the "good guys" but BSG are not police or navy, theyre as much a GOOD guy as the corsairs sat at gamma waiting to shoot ya as you pass.

So a little more open minded-ness would be nice,

but anyhow Im rambling, back to my point, less faff over AW, most inactive clan. Cheers..
