XD I think it's possible to make a ship as a projectile. As for NPCs... dunno.
I want a kamikaze gun!

........Or close the wall up with our English dead...........................Then imitate the action of the tiger;.................

That sounds fun.. I used to play a game called Battlezone, some of the modders (or hackers as they were called in that community) had guns that when fired, spawned tanks, guntowers and whatnot..
Would be itneresting to see it done in Freelancer, though I'm sure if it could be, it already would have been.
To my knowledge NPC's in freelancer are generated randomly according to population zones. Each of these zones state what kind of NPC populatation that area and the frequency that they appear. It would be almost impossible to create something that had this effect on capships without access to the hard code.
You have another problem as well. NPC's behavior towards players is dictated by a players rep sheet. It would be very easy for a rival player to become friendly with your fighters faction and not get attacked by them at all. Plus, if players started throwing out random NPC it could cause a danger to server stability.

A danger he says ^.^ It would crash the server every 6 minutes!

Weapons platforms sound more doable but we still have the problem of getting it to attack the target you want. Player factions don't necessarily treat each other the same way as their NPC counterparts.
