Serious and Contagious Mental Disorder Strikes Planet Harris

Allegedly thousands upon thousands of convicted prisoners have been disappearing en masse once dropped at the prisoner transfer center located on Planet Harris. From there they are loaded aboard the Battleship MacDuff where they are supposed to await transportation to their respective prisons. However, unnamed sources within the Bretonian Armed Forces have stated other fates befalling these prisoners. It is hereby alleged that these prisoners have been the subjects of mass experimentation for new viral weaponry being developed by the rogue BAF captain of the MacDuff. We warn that the following may be to graphic for young readers. Upon contraction of a virus and further study of the virus' effects, these individuals are incinerated alive. BAF officials were not available for comment, but a spokesperson for the Bretonian government strongly denied the claims.

Furthermore, strange activity has been observed on and around Planet Harris. A strange and extremely contagious mental disorder has affected many of its inhabitants and several pilots that have had contact with either the planet or the orbiting battleship. Some of the strange behavior includes individuals using seemingly foreign language, believing they are in some sort of alternate reality where nothing is real, and mild to severe schizophrenia where multiple personalties, or characters as they refer to them, are sited. Some pilots have even been known to fly directly into the planet believing that they will "re-spawn" at their point of origin. A psychologist working for the RepEx Corporation has called the condition Grandiose Delusional Disorder, and stated that the contagious nature of the disorder could only be caused by some sort of virus or bacteria. Not much more is known about either situation as the BAF has kept secure locks on all involved, but a direct link between the two cases can safely be assumed.

Officials from the Sirius Center for Disease Control have strongly cautioned all pilots and passengers to avoid entering the vicinity of either Planet Harris or the Battleship MacDuff until this epidemic can be contained.

A spokesperson for the SCDC has stated that the powerful antiviral cocktail known as BULLDOGNK has had limited success in combating the illness. However, the drug is incredibly expensive and has been known to induce paranoia and insane raving in people administered.

This is Tracy Lacy reporting from Holman Outpost where a disaster breaks loose. The recent reports of the virus that has been infecting local pilots seems to have come to truth. Medical teams have been established trying to find a cure for this disease on Planet Harris, but no luck so far. Though it seems this illness is not the only problem BAF officers have at this time, the recent attacks of the terrorist organization known as The Phantoms have been disrupting most and if not all trading activity between the two bases.

The debris of destroyed ships are still in progress of being removed and are slowing down transportation of medical ships. Rumors show that a possible connection between The Phantoms and the Grandiose Delusional Disorder virus, but no logical proof has been presented as of yet.

BAF officials are continuing to deny the acts of their former Captain, even though he has mysteriously disappeared from Bretonia space. Security footage shows the captain flying his personal fighter towards the Tau 23 jumpgate, the feed was lost after the Captain came within range.

Black Squadron Ensign Massada reporting. It is good to hear that causes and solutions are being found. My patrol, which circuits Sirius, was always interrupted at Tau-31 by either Phantoms or strange comms chatter that required my attention. My combat droid, Argonne, reported that several of the traders in the area succumbed to some sort of mental breakdown. I will continue to patrol the area to see if current efforts are effective. Maybe these pilots might have a life after GDD.

In related news the rash of recent trader activity in Tau-31 has environmentalists on Planet Harris in an uproar. The constant use of afterburners and cruise engines has caused severe pollutants to fall into the Harris atmosphere.
"Can't you see that they're destroying our planet?"
A spokesman from the Battleship MacDuff dismissed the severity of the situation out of hand.
"Its a bloody terraforming project. The planet is dead and covered in inhospitable atmosphere. What exactly are we destroying? I think these gits ought to get with the program."
In addition to solar smog the numerous pieces of debris left from crashed ships has left the surface of Harris with fresh craterous pockmarks overlapping those that have been there for centuries. One benefit to this is that the Bedouin tribes that stowed away in Paletform holds have taken to salvaging the wreckage and selling it at the local space port. There is a new trade happening on Harris, and its not prisoners. Local pilots however seem uninterested as they plod back and forth like zombies on a mission.
