We have a recruitment thread. We have slots though, so first-come first-serve.
SCRA, Keepers, Wilde, CR, etc; do not have their IDs for sale to new players.
Thus you need to be invited into the faction to join.
How the faction sends out invites varies, from asking people to apply first and gauging their response (recruitment threads) to just getting them from exemplary actions in game.
All Official Factions are invite only.
Hell, all player factions are generally invite only (doesn't really work any other way).
The difference is here, the above mentioned are NPC factions which are invite only, where as every other (except the ones I missed) have the ability for anyone to join.
You can be as pedantic about it as you like, call it any name you like, but it doesn't change the fact that you require an invite in order to play the faction.

True that.

Wild and Nomads are Vanilla factions. They are the cornerstone antogonists of the storyline. They are part of Disco cannon lore. Both do have an impact on Sirius events and the devs do take into consideration what the NPCs of each are doing and like everyone else the player factions of these wait till the release and see what new RP hooks came out. Ask Order if they were unaffected by one of the above mentioned.
Phooms, on the other hand, I can't think of any defence. I'll leave that for someone else :P
