All capital systems (NY, NL, NT, NB, Alpha, Gamma, Gallic capital system) should have things which Pry said: 2 weapon platforms with TCDs and some weaponry that can deal massive damage guarding Gates and some JHs.

what gives them more right to be there then for instance Hessians in Gamma.
Yeah (well not sure on Rheinland, they don't really go there in lore do they), but what happens in lore and what happens with players is a pretty different phenomenon.

Look at the situation, the Corsair council imposes fines for raiding said systems in caps, because caps should be guarding O5, O41, Theta, Gamma and Kappa from intruders. On the contrary, none of our enemies even get a harsh word thrown at them for going into OUR HOME SYSTEM.
Obviously, you are on the "I like to raid gamma 24/7 without any problems" side. Like 3/4th of the server appear to be. Which is fine, for you. But the remaining 1/4th is having every ounce of fun and enjoyment taken from them, so you can keep bringing hordes of caps into a system which, inRP, you shouldnt even be able to approach without being killed.
The "realistic" chance for a Hunter Cruiser to reach gamma alone without a huge fleet defending it is 0%. Just as there SHOULD BE 0% chance for a Corsair Cruiser to reach New Berlin/London/Tokyo.
I haven't raided Gamma in 3 years and don't particularly feel like doing it again (nor do I have any chars that could).
I just think this is a game and this stuff works better if you deal with it in the game. Like remember when in lore lawfuls weren't supposed to use jumpholes? But that's just dumb and not fun for anyone and makes no sense. You know the jumpholes are fine for your adv. train, you've seen it a million times, so you go through, because it will be fine, because that's what makes sense and is logical.
Similarly, some Hessians go to Omega 5 to kill some Corsairs because that's what they do in lore. There's none there so they move on to Omega 41. There's none there so they move in to Gamma.
It works both ways. That makes perfect sense for them in RP/lore, and there's nothing happening that's stopping them from doing that.
You could stop them doing that with stupidly overpowered bots (no fun for anyone at all) or you could actually stop them from doing that in game (fun).
(Similarly if a corsair cruiser can get in to London, that's as much a BAF/BPA/whoever problem as anyone else, imo)

and this is exactly my point.
instead of putting hours and hours of work into demotivating people to act out of lore restrictions,
like the council of elders always tried with fining caps for leaving ZOI for instance,
why not put stationary defenses that take care of it.
way more easy , more fun for everyone.
sairs will get out of gamma more often in search of a fight,
their enemies will stay out of gamma more often fearing to be insta killed by it's defenses.
just like it should be according to lore.

Well, I never said very close to the planet. Just like another floating base. Feel uncomfortable near the planet? Retreat to the battleship 10k away... Of course, giving such annoying advantage like Ordurz had was bad. But still, raids were frequent back then and it was still fun.
Alright, let me talk more about the placement of the battleships...
The marked areas is good places for defence. While Corsairs have their sun perfectly surounded with bases and whatnot, Outcasts is more on one area (the distance between Ibiza, the farthest base from Malta, is nearly as same as Triploi and Crete), in other words, Corsairs are widely strecthed and have weak planetary defences (not tight enough between nearest base, which is Tripoli), and Outcasts sitting in one place with strong planetary defences (lets remember Valetta, which is the primary defence grid in lore). What Corsairs need is something that defends Crete and what Outcasts need is more ground in the system. Due to old problems with the popular Isis, we wouldn't of course want a Isis 2.0, so the red marked areas is probably 15-20k away from Crete. Same with Alpha, the battleship needs to stay far out from the planet, but at the same time, making sence of the battleships's existance.

Gamma is a place where every dude and their mom goes to LOLOLOL pew.
RP is difficult to find in these raids.
Actually according to rumors , enemies of the sairs can't even reach gamma due to its heavy defenses.
Now look at Gammas defenses.
They are a joke.
Surely you can run to O91 or just dock at any of the bases.
Fact is that as far as I am aware every raid on gamma is a OORP happening.
But its so much fun?!?

but last time i checked this is discovery RP so would it not be better to act according to lore ingame , and meet in some other systems where these battles actually can take place inrp?
I am sure that real defenses in gamma would demotivate the constant raids and save us from a lotta tears.

Sure, upgrade gamma defenses, every docking ring and station should be able to blow up a battleship without needindg 10 hostiles around, forcing it to go mad (No, it's not a joke), otherwise they would had been long time destroyed.
Also, I highlighted the parts of your post that I really disliked, would it hurt you much to present your arguments wihtout trying to denigrate other people's way of playing?

my sair chars have been moved away from gamma. there's just no point being there unless you want to play 'furball'. the trouble with the nigh-on constant gamma raid is that they deny players the opportunity to rp in their home space, as corsair empire citizens.
the only RP left is either 'hello bh/rha/zonerzonerzoner, time to die'
or
'hello trader person, gief monez nao'
the 'raids' on berlin and cambridge are a reaction to the raids on gamma. there used to be an almost constant raiding situation by indie casts, now its everyone and his dog. Suggest the players of the official factions check themselves, and start thinking about creating sair characters, and try to complete missions in gamma for rep when theres a massive gankfestfurball 5k away.
