"You can't attack us because our invisible, non-existing ingame defenses would have been destroying you" ? Come on.
What about smugglers that "shouldn't" be able to smuggle through New York ?
If you want to fend them off, then log ships and do so.
If they can do it ingame, they can do it inRP.

I have to say I can not agree 100% with this statement.
We have recently had a tradeship in Samura that traveleed through Chugoku.
This is as far as I am concerned not the correct thing to do whether BD are on line or not.
Sure we can travell ignoring the NPCs as we go and see Kyoto, but is it really right to say that if the BD can not log at that time then it is ok for us to treat it as a short cut.
Maybee if we had 10.000 slots available for players and a server population of 100.000.
But we don't.

We have different visions of what is possible then.
For me, if your system does not have the necessary firepower to kill intruders on the form of NPC patrols with shiny level tags, then it is designed an easy to intrude system. Therefore it is fair game to sneak in when nobody is around.
Now, I agree that some systems could use better defenses that what they currently have... Especially the aforementioned ones.

I can mount Gallic weapons on my Corsair
I can get Rheinland Battleships on Manhattan in daily basis
I can chart all pirate bases
Right?

This is because of the RP consequences inherent in taking advantage of the GMG ID that allows us to get completely unlawful with Samura ID would have prevented us from trying the other things at the same time (war can do that heheh). Kurile provides that goal as a catalyst and a lure for invasion as the RP consequence. It makes things possible. It's happening now because I would be really really dissappointed in myself if I allowed GMG| faction to die without exploring all avenues of it's RP. Besides this is the kinda RP hook that can get many IDs back into action.
The billions of SC you lose from the latest trade regulations wasn't also a "hidden" reason to provoke aggresiveness?

inRP corsairs couldn't get so close to malta
inRP outcasts couldn't get so close to gamma
inRP hackers couldn't get so close to manhattan
inRP hessians couldn't get so close to berlin
inRP 3 mercenaries couldn't wipe out fleet of ships
inRP I couldn't get 1 billion credits from pirating
inRP trader would die when his ship explodes
Should I continue ?
EDIT : I'm not gmg just pointing out your ridiculous point of view when you get your asses kicked
A force of 3 ships is far more likely to make it through to Alpha than 9 would.
3 can slip through, go in at different times or generally use common sneak tactics. Forces this large frequently get to some very hard to reach areas in Sirius, which makes sense considering the sheer size of space. However they are not of much threat.
9 ships is a large enough force to cause some real damage and is far easier to intercept.
It is more 'OORP' for 9 ships to get through to Alpha than 3.
That said, the NPCs in Alpha ought to be enough to stop folks.
They aren't.
Not even ass-kicked. Regardless which direction it comes from - Taus or Sigmas - It is always the same. A mixed unit of smalls creeps in, picks some killables off and either dies in a hailstorm of solaris or withdraws steadily, taking some more out, effectively "losing".
Very rare is the occasion, when Alpha is really defeated. I managed that maybe five times in total. Over the last five years.
Ok gents, please keep the trolling and flaming to a minimum. Or more specifically, zero. Or else bad things will happen to you. You know who you are.
As to GMG controlling Kurile, lets get one thing straight: as long as the base displays a Samura IFF, its surface will belong to Samura. It is extremely unlikely the planet will change ownership, thus it is unlikely the GMG will "conquer" it as a result of these events. That does not mean there cannot be some temporary RP development in the space around it.
But finally and most importantly, nobody wants to powergame anybody here and I hope the same courtesy will be extended to us as well. Just saying.
As to alpha raids, it's already been discussed in the GMG chat. We will attempt to get Outcast forces to beta if they don't see us there by colourful words by PM. If that doesn't work, then we may show up in alpha.

Excuse me, but no, NO systems at all have NPCs defences being able to damage you seriously, unless you fly transports and up.

This is feedback for official faction, though, they shouldn't do it from my viewpoint too.
And I'm GMG|.
EDIT: Blodo, even if even the Council of Rising Suns approves such change too?
