Council and Union Corse tech are white to you in the tech chart.
And I just can't find those factions allowing you to use their technology anywhere.
Maquis being able to use Council technology doesn't give them the right to allow someone else to use it, as per rules.
Link please?
Even if they did allow you, are you going to fly Agamas around?
If so, I am completely opposed to this faction, as I see no reason for you to exist.
Whatever you say about +LE+ - at least they are not trying to fly Agamas around and use them for something that Cuirassier is made for.
Sharing technology is dumb, as can be seen on 'Hogosha-AFA-Gaians' relations.
Please use Brigands technology and fly Brigand ships.
Thanks.
I put that in for an event in which we may, for any reason at all, want to use any Council, Maquis or Corse tech. That's why it says PERMITTED use of... etc.
We'll use what we get granted from those factions if we ever see the need to use their stuff.
We might decide that Council sheild busters are much better for piracy, and offer our services in battle and in smuggling them valuable goods.
' Wrote:And this just means you want to fly Sabres, right? NO, for the love of god. Stop trying to use other technology.
The Brigands are expanding out into Sirius, and the BW ships are popular amongst most Sirius unlawful factions. Considering the Brigand desire to ally with the Outcasts, and the need to combat heavier, Sirian ships, attaining BW tech is a very logical next step.
The Brigands will need a VHF to counter the heavier Sirian ships that their new enemies use.
Also, the passing and sharing of technology is a very good thing for factions, it allows a win-win scenario for both sides.
The FA had a great bomber, the Hogosha had a great fighter, the Gaians had a great Gunboat. So these groups share these with each other and now all three groups have great fighters, bombers and gunboats.
Such arrangements can lead to powerful and fearsome alliances to strike out at common enemies.

Yes, and now Gaians can pwn Templars with their uber-unhittable Black Dragons and everyone's happy, right?
Well, not everybody. For one, I'm not.
How would you feel if the Bretonians started flying Sabres all of a sudden? Would that seem normal to you?
Gallic unlawfuls weren't given VHF's for a reason. Do you know that reason?
Quote:The Brigands will need a VHF to counter the heavier Sirian ships that their new enemies use.
No you won't. Because, all you need to do outside of Gallia is smuggle things.
I don't see you pirating traders outside of Gallia, that'd be silly.
Plus, you have a gunboat.
Also, your HF's are used to counter Lynxes, which are considered much better then 'Sirian tech' in RP.
Now, as I can see you are deadly serious about your technology intentions, I must say I am completely opposed to this faction.
Until you fix your attitude towards sharing technology I will not be supporting this.

In game balance terms, or in roleplay terms? One is a dev issue, the other is a roleplay issue which is down to the players. Make your mind up, because one has nothing to do with this faction.
Roleplay wise, of course. But it is connected to balance too.
I was in a balance team during 4.84-4.85 transition,
and I know how hard it is to balance ships and equipment when certain factions start using something they shouldn't.
I simply hate factions using technology that wasn't meant for them.
If I see a Rogue in a Sabre I'll just laugh. Why? Because it's funny.
I don't care if he has Rogue ID and Rogue IFF, that is not a Rogue for me.
Same thing for a Corsair in an Eagle. I'll laugh and consider him a fool.
I mean, come on.
If there's a whole faction doing this stuff, I will not be supporting it's existence.
On the contrary, I'll try everything to convince them it's wrong.
And I'm trying.

It'd seem like a totally logical step for the Bretonians to emply a cheap, lighter fighter (edit: than the Templar) to combat the Kusari ships.
' Wrote:Gallic unlawfuls weren't given VHF's for a reason. Do you know that reason?
1) Because no one made a model for it
2) Because someone thought it would be a good idea, Gallia isn't very popular cause of this 'good idea'

And expand on our new Sirian piracy enterprise.
And kill our new IMG and CR enemies.

I dunno if you noticed, but three Brigand Sabres against three hostile fighters would be better off than three Brigand Gunboats ahainst three hostile fighters.
Spoiler: The Gunboats will lose most of the time.

Are you going to not-support the LE, and every other Official Faction in this mod then?
Edit: Also, Joe has a Corsair Eagle, and it's one of the most badass, awesome things ever.
Quote:It'd seem like a totally logical step for the Bretonians to emply a cheap, lighter fighter to combat the Kusari ships.
So let's get this straight. Your HF's aren't powerful enough for Nyx's, but Bretonian's LF's are good enough for killing Black Dragons?
Hypocrisy?

And because the GRN are supposed to dominate.
Quote:And expand on our new Sirian piracy enterprise.

Bombers are pretty cool for pirating actually. And I heard you have one.
Where do you intend to pirate, if I may ask?
Quote:I dunno if you noticed, but three Brigand Sabres against three hostile fighters would be better off than three Brigand Gunboats ahainst three hostile fighters.
Sure. Three Rogue Sabres could also do better against 3 [LN] Guardians then 3 Werewolves.
They would also probably do better against 3 Outcast Sabres then 3 Titans.
So, are you saying every faction should just fly Sabres instead of their own ships?
Nice RP.
Quote:Are you going to not-support the LE, and every other Official Faction in this mod then?
I'm not sure about +LE+, I'v only seen them flying Cuirassiers. But yes, if they start flying Sabres I'll ask them the same questions and criticize their "RP" too.

The problem with Kusari ships balance wise is that they are affected by lag more than other fighters due to their unique shape. Giving the Bretonians a chimaera copy is kind of the wrong way to go about a problem that is in essence a server/technical problem. But it still doesn't change the fact that a three legged dog can walk into Kabukicho and get a Black Dragon, and a similar situation applies on Islay and the Gaian GB. But that's down to the factions handing out the tech I suppose...
Quote:1) Because no one made a model for it

Actually, Gallia isn't very popular because there are no traders there, and the NPCs are ridiculously strong in most places. Fighter balance (which is quite good actually when it comes to Council vs GRN fights) has nothing to do with it.

I heavily disagree. Provided the gunboat knows what it is doing, even 2 fighters will be hard pressed to kill one unless they pack either full 2.00 both, or each of them has 3+ debs installed. 3 gunboats vs 3 fighters would almost without a shadow of a doubt end in the 3 gunboats obliterating the 3 fighters, provided skill levels are similar among the pilots.

This thread seems to be degenerating into circle rhetoric. Akura, what I would suggest instead when it comes to stuff such as technology is to actually do the RP first, and then put stuff like "we will use Sabres" on your faction status. It's a common mistake people who only arrived at disco and want their own faction make, you should know this isn't how stuff works around here...
I know there is a bunch of people who love the idea of Brigands becoming the newest OC ally, and it's fine but just because you talk with the leaders of the outcasts frequently on skype doesn't excuse you from doing both the ingame and forum rp that would justify an action such as Outcasts giving the Brigands their stuff. And it should pass the criteria of "make believe" too.
' Wrote:So let's get this straight. Your HF's aren't powerful enough for Nyx's, but Bretonian's LF's are good enough for killing Black Dragons?
No. I said that it would make sense that Bretonia might use Sabres as they're lighter than the Templar and might do a better job at combatting the Light-Kusari ships.
' Wrote:Bombers are pretty cool for pirating actually. And I heard you have one.

In the Taus baby, so many fresh IMG and BMM to make lots of money from.
And those Kusari ships supplying the front lines in Leeds, plenty of war toys we could use...
' Wrote:So, are you saying every faction should just fly Sabres instead of their own ships?
Nice RP.
No, I'm saying that the BW ships are a logical addition to the Brigands as the BW ships can have uses that other Brigand ships might not be able to achieve so well.

I was making an example of possible, progressive roleplay for us to peek into.

I see we have completely opposed opinions on this matter, so further discussion is pointless.
I'd rather see Gaians flying Eagles instead, while you'd just make it worse.
Well, anyway, good luck with this.
