After Rackhams last words Eric noticed that they were really afraid its manufacturing and maintenance costs would even go through the roof. Eric had a grin when Rackham was telling that, still he wanted to convince them both to recreate such a magnificent vessel. While taking a peek outside the window he sees the always peaceful Baffin. "The figures I did mostly myself, also I double checked them. It is a rough figure. And I am pretty sure within our peaceful existence we made more than enough money. We never really had to spent anything on safety measures, or anything else which had notable high costs.“
He takes a small moment. And realize he drifts a little bit off to another issue… "To keep it short and on the matter. I think we have enough assets to cover the funding in my eyes, so even the roof can be totally renewed Rackham. The total amount to manufacture the ship would come to a rough 7 billion Sirius Credits. I know it is a lot, but I calculated it in the worst case scenario’s. So if all would go well with no setbacks, it would be near the 5,5 billion Sirius Credits. It must be seen as a future investment of course, which might also benefit our own Aquillon class in time."
Eric takes a good look at the faces of Doc and Rackham, with high hopes he awaits their replies.

Rackham leaned back in his chair and studied a piece of space about four feet in front of his eyes.... for about a minute. Then, coming back into focus he turned to Doc.
"Should we be doing this? Would we be building a false idol to mock Eris?"
"Or will it just be bloody good fun!? We have the cash under a brick in the gardens."

Doc's face was one of concern. He studied the drawings, trying to understand the engineering of everything.
"It's not Eris I'm worried about, John," Doc said in thought, "if Mal were here, he would have said that this project had too many teeth." He took his bifocals off and continued, "I once had a project idea long ago. I don't remember the details anymore but he replied that it had too many teeth."
Doc then smirked, "But then he came up with the Temple Guard ships shortly thereafter so I'd be interested to what he might be thinking....wherever that is."
Concerns of funds made his face long. He looked toward Eric, "Seven billion credits is more than we have in both the Temple Fund and Med Force Enterprises combined....and multiplied," Doc told him. He looked to John, "And I'm not going to deplete the fund for one ship."
He then heard John's comment, "We have that funding hidden?" Doc asked confused. He put his face in his hands and then ran his hands over his head through his hair, "OK, now I'm more confused. Eric, is this what I was negotiating with Pheonix over?
Eric smiles as he sees Doc even more confused as before he was explaining in detail about technical aspects of the request.
"Doc, why do you think Mal came with the Temple Guard ships? Even when there is peace, you must always be aware for possible threats. Maybe he did foresee some problems within the future. It is something none of us will ever know, but to have some defenses as the defensive grid on Malaclypse Freeport or the one of Ravenhurst Watch are needed in these certain times. Allies can suddenly become enemies and enemies can become allies. Nothing is certain within the path Eris has in mind for us."
A for a brief moment there was a silence...
"Phoenix.." he makes a sigh. "To be very short.. in general it is the same, but then again the negotiation with the Phoenix was also about something else... If you have closely watched the ship with the technical explanation you could have seen that its different then the known Levithian. You may not be a technician, but its not that hard to see."
he grins, takes a look at John and wonders if Doc ever seen the Levithian class.

It seems to me that we're mixing the ship, money and engineering into one ball of confusion. We have the cash and the engineering is in place, I think Eric needs to present the concept and plans to us in a concise way, so that we understand how the manifestation of this ship will be of benefit to the TAZ, yes?
"I guess you are right John. The ship would benefit our flock as it could be used on several ways. But be warned i would suggest it would be used wisely. It is a highly advanced ship, for this the creation costs are a lot more then the Nephilim class. But long journeys are not possible with the Levithian class. At least not at the start as all have to be checked with much precaution. Maybe some small improvements on its internal structure. But this would be mere speculation."
Eric takes a look at John his face.. and notice he is going to be very technical again. Also a small confused face of Doc appears and he continues..
"Doc.. The suggestion you made about using a similar ship for medical purposes would be a possibility. Not only that but it could also give the scientists within Pueblo Bonito a new look, and maybe even make progression upon current research. But this is just an example for what it could be used. Another one could be a defensive one if it would ever be needed."
After the last words Eric gets a strange feeling like someone or something is along with em in the room. He feels a strange presence

Eric takes a look at Doc, watches him straight into his face. He notices that he still is not quite certain about the decision. "Doc, do not forget it’s a project which can take some time. Then again it is not even certain we could even create another one. But hope is something we all should have. If we would lose hope, what kind of world would we live in?“
Suddenly Eric sees something behind Doc. It looks like some face watching over the conversation. Eric cannot recognize who it is, but it made him more confident that the ship constructing has to be done. "Before I came towards the Temporary Autonomous Zoners I did have saved a lot of credits myself. I will be more then glad to contribute something to this project. I would not do something like this if I did not believe it was that important. Not only security wise, but also research wise we would gain a lot of it.“
He looks Doc one last time in the eyes.. "Doc do not worry nothing will directly be affected by it. The primairy fundings will still go to maintenance of our beloved Pueblo Bonito and other facilities like Shasta Outlook. It will also not be that notable as I showed you a cost with a duration of some years. So a final bill, not to start with. If we would encounter any big problems or the project seem to fail we could always pull the plug out of it. If you 2 don’t mind I am going to make the preparations to start the production of the vessel. I really have a lot to do. If any of you have more questions about it feel free to contact me. And I will answer your questions as soon as possible.“
Eric walks towards the unfolded ball on the table. He presses a button on the side of it and it returns to its original shape. After that he puts it back into his pocket, presses another button on it. It returns a small sound and he presses the button again and another sound was heard. Then he left the room with leaving Doc and John behind in the chamber.
Eric went back at the reception, handed over the key and went back to his room to make sure everything was ready.

Doc was deep in thought, still quite lost with all the technical data. It wasn't his strength. Still, he had great faith in John Rackham and he trusted Eric. Rather than struggle with his thoughts, he just gave in.
"John," he nodded, "I'll support this and I'm leaving you to supervise this. Just don't let TAZ go bankrupt over it."
He then turned to Eric, "I would like a copy of those readouts. I have an engineer on MF1 who is very sharp and would be able to explain things to me. He might even be able to help you."
Gypsie ascended through the ladder and entered the room just as he had done some years ago. Back then he had come to meet Malaclypse and interview him for his first No Buns No Cabbages Reports number. The lights, the smell on the air flowing gently in the room, it all reminded him of good ole Mal. He could even feel a presence there.
It was not Mal's though, as he realized when a chair turned, facing towards him. Sitting on it was Theodore Sturgeon, one of the two Erisian Replicants Dr. Mojo had brought from Sol.
What's up Theo? I wasn't aware that you knew Mal. It's nice to meet you here my friend.Gypsie said, smiling at the artificial man.
It's good to meet you too, Pope Skripto. And no, I did not know Mal, but Dr. Mojo has told me plenty about his good temper and deeds. I guess he also tried to express me his emotional memories about the Third, but I can't say I really got those.Said Theo, trying to smile back politely.
Gypsie walked some steps through the room, picking objects here and there, and staring at those things that reminded him of his old mentor. He was then suddenly enlightened by a clever thought. This encounter may not be just sheer luck my good Templar... I could use your help with something. He said while turning to Theo. As you know I've commited with the Junker Congress for as long as there is need for me to be exiled from Baffin. But I will soon need to return to resume my TAZ duties, and I will have to leave the Congress. TAZ has much to learn from them yet, and despite I will be the contact between the two groups, having a man inside will definately be profitable... Theo, will you take my place and fly for the Congress after I've come back?
