It was a sunny day, no clouds were visible on the sky.



A nice young man was training with his father.

"Attitude, boy; Find your center, breathe slowly, trust in your abilities."
Said the wise old man to his young pupil, who was also his only child.

"Attitude, concentration, breath." The young boy said quietly to himself.

Then it was quiet, and the only thing that was heard was a shrill hiss of an arrow, crashing into its target.
The young man took off the blindfold, and looked over at his goal.

"Good shot my son, just the middle. Always trust your instincts."
"Yes, my father, my master... I will."




His father had been training him since he was six years old, high in the mountains, in the Highlands.
He lived in a small village and grew without the vice of technology upon it.

He learned discipline, and traditional values like honor and brotherhood in his clan.
Today he is 25 years old, and addition to his traditional fighting with sword and bow,
he has now learned to fly a star tracker and will try a good pilot.

His father had often caught him while he gazed dreamily at the stars.
He knew that his son was anxious about the academy, which was on another planet.
He would be going with some friends, but he would be leaving so much behind.

The father said to his son,

"I know you want to fight my son, but if everyone was to fight, then who would bring peace to this land?
We live for harmony, and use our knowledge for the self-defense, never for needless violence."

"I know, dad, but I just can'€™t stay quiet when I do know that there is so much evil outside. I know I can stop them,'€
said the young son at the time.

"One day, your time will come and your destiny will reveal itself to you. For now, go to sleep,"
said the worried father as they went to bed.




THE NEXT DAY ...


It was a sunny day ...


After training with the Father, the young man was practicing alone in the forest
when suddenly a loud roar was heard in the distance.

He climbed a tree and looked in the direction the thunderous sound came from,
when suddenly lights flashed in the distance and the sound came again.

The roar was coming from the black clouds of smoke, rising from his village in the distance.
He was frightened and climbed as fast as he could down.

The deafening noises were getting louder and closer, an soon he saw that the noise came from a spaceship,
touching down on the exposed land right in front of him.

Four men got out, armed with stun-sticks, and began to circle him, laughing as they walked.
One said,

"Well... who do we have here? Some sort of tough guy, huh? You'€™ll bring us a tidy profit...'€

At that moment, the boy realized the truth;

They were Slavers!

The four slavers ran at the young boy, but this was the moment he was trained for;
he moved quickly and struck hard, and had all four men face down in the dirt within seconds.

He ran to his village, where the sound of the ships grew louder.
The streets were covered in destruction, strewn about with the dead bodies
of those who had been brave enough to stand up to the slavers.




His parents' house was not far off ... Suddenly, he heard gunshots!

"FATHER!" cried the young man ran and he ran faster than he had ever run before.
He watched as a spaceship took off from outside the house, and saw his father'€™s body lying where the ship had once been

"NO! Father, please tell me this isn'€™t true! NO!"

But his father was already dead.
With tears in his eyes he saw his house in flames, and he rushed inside to look for his mother.
When he finally found what remained of his mother, his legs buckled at the sight of her scorched body.

The house began to cave in on itself, engulfed by the flames.
At the last moment, the young boy ran outside of the burning carcass that had been his home.
He cried out of sadness, and the sky turned grey as it started to rain.

He looked over at the corpse of his father,
but his mind was torn from grief by the sound of same roaring engines he had heard before, this time in the distance...

"The neighboring villages... I have to warn them,"

he said to himself, as he ran to the barn that housed his fighter.
from his grief grew anger, and he swore on the corpse of his father that he would avenge this injustice.

He ran into the barn, jumped into the star tracker'€™s cockpit and started the ignition sequence.
His targets ... The slave traders raiding the neighboring village.

The slave traders just bombed the village when the young man arrived on the scene.
There were three slave hunters in the air,
along with a freighter on the ground that had just begun to fill it'€™s hold with helpless slaves.

He set his sights on one of the ships in the air, and opened fire on the unaware slaver. The hunter was destroyed!
The other two hunters, waking up to this new adversary, turned to engage the young boy.

But the boy'€™s training payed off;
the perfect combination of his warrior tradition and the ship'€™s technology came together
with the young boys rage, making him an unstoppable fighting force
that cleaved through the two remaining fighters in a spectacular battle.

Next, the boy turned his sights on the freighter,
and began pursuing the ship as it attempted to flee.

The freighter was slow; far slower that the boy'€™s ship, which was gaining speed quickly.
Seeing that there was no getting away, the freighter landed and started quickly unloading it'€™s living cargo
in hopes that it'€™s pursuer would abandon the chase.

The young pilot struggled, the crosshairs focused on the freighter, his finger on the trigger...


"Do not shoot,'€ said the freighter'€™s capitan. '€œWe give up"


He wanted to shoot, but just before he fired he heard a voice whispering in his ear...
"Find your center... Breath, my son... There'€™s been enough violence..."

He let the freighter get away.

On that day, the young man buried his family.
Over their graves, he swore to bring justice to every slaver, murderer, or other source of evil that he could find.




YEARS LATER...

It is a gray day, rain clouds in the sky ...

A man in long black hair, wearing a black battle uniform,
stood in front of the aide for the Academy. He was wet from the rain, and a sword was hanging on his back.

The aide was shocked by the man'€™s weapon, and the security guards in the room instantly reached for their weapons.
"S... sir? Please put your s...sword away while y...you are here."

"OK, but I need it back. It belonged to my father," said the man in black battle suit.

Aide: "well then... What'€™s the reason you are here?"
The man: "I want to join the armed forces. I heard about the recruitment drive, and I want to help make space safer for everyone."

Aide: "That'€™s nice to hear. What'€™s your name, sir?"
The man: "I am the sword of vengeance, my name is Renoktu-Ree."

Aide: " '€˜The Sword'€™... I see. Well, how old are you? Do you have any flying experience?

Renoktu: "I'€™m 26 years old, and I'€™ve learned to be a good pilot and a better hunter.'€

Aide: "So a hunter... What are you chasing?"
Renoktu: "Slavers."

Aide. "Slave traders? Why?'€
Renoktu: '€œWell, when I was 25 years old, and it was a sunny day...'€

The man in black battle dress told the story ....




Renoktu: "And now, I'€™m here to find my destiny ...."
