Salut.

I had a most intriguing pair of discussions recently while overseeing some operations within Liberte space. While directing matters upon the Cachette Secrete in Liberte, we were followed and raised on communications by a fellow identifying himself as Mr. Yoshida, who claimed to be working on behalf of the Lane Hackers. He was quite adamant about talking to us, so I allowed the capitaine of my vessel speak and listen on my behalf near the Cortez Jump Gate in the California system. The conversation was as dismal as I expected, unfortunately.

Regrettably, it was not to be the only trouble with this pest we would experience this day. Ferrying wounded Bretonian troopers we managed to smuggle off the surface of Leeds, helped in no small part by the cargo of Nox we brought with us I'm sure, we were accosted once more by this so called representative of the Lane Hackers. Becoming tired of his attempts to raise us on the comms I relented and had the capitaine arrange a meeting in the Kepler System in the hopes that perhaps a more private conversation would yield something fruitful, but I did not hold high hopes to that end. I believe that to be wise given the discussion between "Mr. Yoshida" and my capitaine.

I am unfortunately only passingly familiar with respect to our standing with the Lane Hackers of Liberte, and will have to dig into the Senat archives to learn more, but my impression of them does not bode well. I see no opportunity to be had with an organization that wishes to negotiate with us at the end of a weapon. I am sure that the Senat will arrive at a similar conclusion, but I leave it up to them to decide our response.
