It is clear most people didnt read the first post or just that of wich they tought they needed to know since there will be a nice reward coming So yes profits may not be as high but dont forget this : A trade event will be added after a few days into the event for allied forces to bring supplies in order to keep defenses up.
The event will also feature PVE elements if needed, allowing the acquiring of scientific data. : as said by spaz him self ^_^
