Removing the tags saves some typing and would make it easier to find things alphabeitcally. Someone who doesn't already know what fc and hs are suposed to mean will just get confused when trying to find a faction that starts with other letters than f or c.
But more than anything, making a line break after each restart does the trick to make things easier to find. It's longish but short enough to fit in the chat history. So it would be cool if this were possible.

If you show too much, you take the exploration aspect out of the game (good for vets but boring for noobs), and you also somewhat make people visit/trade to more places (spreads players out and reduces interactions).
If you do not like it, feel free to use the "hardcore" restart that doesn't give you a map. Just because you do not like something, doesn't mean other people shouldn't have it.
I'm just going to pretend I don't know why you're strawmaning me (and not Unseelie who asked for the same thing) so you can portray me as selfish, but explain it again for those who still didn't understand it.
It's not about what I or anyone else wants for myself/themselves, it's about the experience new people have when they decide whether they enjoy playing the mod or not. I don't want less things mapped because I enjoy mapping things I already know about, I want something that is a minor inconvenience to me, because it will gradually give me more people to play with over time, which I think we can agree is what this community needs the most. It's called a delayed gratification strategy, something that many people here unfortunately have a poor grasp of.
Removing parts of the restart maps may be a slight annoyance for vets who create multiple chars all the time, but having everything one needs mapped from the start takes away part of the reward of playing for noobs. Freelancer gameplay is based on character progression, and that's what people want and expect to get when they try out the mod for the first time. Someone who gets the feeling that they advanced their character every time they discover something new will have more fun playing because they continually get small rewards like this simply for flying around. If they get all the map they need from the start, they'll log on and off feeling like they've accomplished nothing, or very little, compared to what they were handed from the start. People who feel like they've accomplished something will be less likely to leave because they know that things will be easier for them now because of what they've accomplished, which they won't want to throw away. Having the map from the start is more convenient, but discovering new things gradually is more rewarding and thereby more gratifying.
And seriously, mapping stuff ain't that hard for a vet, and isnt even necessary if they know where everything is already. They also know about the interactive nav map more than noobs do. Mapping stuff you already know about is a very small price to pay in return for making the mod more fun in early gameplay so noobs actually keep playing, considering the development of the server population. I don't think more vets will leave because "omg I have a little less mapped on a new character" than noobs will leave because "meh boring and predictable and I feel I'm accomplishing nothing while playing".
Unseelie offered to do work to improve the mod, I'd be willing to assist, and possibly others are willing too. That shouldn't be wasted. I'd be willing to verify and compile restart-related problems that anyone who finds can tell, to add things I find, and gradualy update the restart files.
