Other than the fact of (more) boosting of Knossos and Xi as activity hubs, I have to ask. Why adding a bonus on the already valuable commodities (mined artifacts) and not on the standard ones (from Gamma and other bases)?
I see a trend of economic events where the used good is either a one off commodity (placed just for the event), or a buff to an ore commodity (to get more miners?). Allied with obsolete values for standard commodities, and the ease of money by shipping ores for a few runs, the result is making artifacts, cardamine, industrial goods, and many other stuff just being worth as paperweights for your cargo hold. A rookie might be entertained shipping h-fuel from the sigmas to a far corner of the galaxy a few times to get his or her second transport, until they realize the hours they spent on the basic trade could be replaced by 3 or 4 runs of He-3 commodity trading, or similar.
Do not be discourage from continuing this event, as it shows some results (I think?). I hope that future events will give weight to these concerns that I expressed.
