' Wrote:I'm sorry if I was a bit blunt here but these anti-BHG things all came at once, and coincided with us getting official status and kind of rained on our parade (however short lived it was).
Having gone through such close scrutiny to get status and to now have several threads like this, and angelfire's one, popping up along with the merc/bhg id thing - well, it just kind of grates.
The gunship thing is being sorted in the i.d. thread.
All I want is parity of treatment.
Having said all of that, you folks all have genuine grievances about the abuse of the BHG id, so let's see what we can all do about it.
As a general rule, factionalized Bounty Hunters know what they're doing. Organizations like S/D are far from the problem. I like you guys even when playing my Hacker.
It's the ones that treat the BHG ID like a terrorist license to camp pirate bases/planets, and bring in multiple battleships to hunt a solitary bomber. Sadly, the faction's reputation is being dragged through the mud like the Liberty Navy's, for very much the same reasons. Independents in capships throwing RP out the window and shooting everything red in sight.
Just earlier in New York we had an incident with two Indy BH Battleships shooting at a Hacker, using a bounty they would provide no evidence of actually existing as an excuse. They ignored all warnings from the [LN] and an admin had to step in and scream at them before they stopped.
As a member of another faction that just got their official designation, congratulations on making it. No one is thinking of you or any members of the S/D when we grumble about BH capwhoring. Though thanks to your stellar roleplay and now-official designation, we may look to you to set the example. And possibly police the indys if you're up for it.
(Nobody's expecting you to. Relax.)
(End note: If this new ruling and upcoming ID change actually curbs the Indy-Hunter-shooting-everything-at-Yanagi problem, I'm going to have a lot less to do on my Junker Guard character in the near future. Boo. )
