Veranda Incognita, Home of the Waverlys

[Midori]

A custom military truck pulled up to the front door of the Veranda. Excited but cautious, Midori Holliday stepped out and walked up to the front door. She was carrying a lotus plant as a gift. She knocked on the door and awaited someone to arrive.

Moira came to the door, all smiles.
"Midori, good to see ya'" she said in her accent as she hugged her.
Midori handed her the lotus plant, "For you! I grew it from seed." Moira accepted it and complemented it. Finally, she invited Midori inside where the two ladies sat down.

"No Doc?" asked Moira.
"No, John Henry left early," Midori explained, "he may come later."

Moira then poured coffee for both of them and put a plate of krullers on the table. Midori sipped her coffee and took a bite of a kruller. She chewed it slowly. Putting her cup down, she gently rubbed her stomach while she ate.
"I just cannot eat this morning," she complained.

Moira became concerned, "Are you OK?"

Midori just smiled and said, "Oh, just morning sickness. I guess I not tell you but John Henry and I are going to be parents in about 6 months time."

Moira became excited for her and cheered, "That is so wonderful."
The two ladies just sat and chatted, enjoying coffee and krullers, well, as much as Midori's condition allowed anyway.
