Crippled Honor

"Monsieur Giroux? Eh, eh... Can you hear me?"

Aubert opened his eyes slowly. The first thing he saw was a flashlight. A nurse on her middle 30's was holding it. Aubert tried to raise his head, but he felt pain around the neck, forcing Aubert to keep lying in the gurney. "Where... am I?"

"Monsieur Giroux! I'm glad to see you can speak!" The nurse put away the flashlight. "You're in Dijon, safe." Aubert tried to move the head, but he always felt pain. He also noticed that he couldn't move any part of his body. He was sedated.

"Oh, I think you'd feel hungry. Don't worry monsieur Giroux! I'll bring you some food after the sedation effects have passed."

Aubert nodded slowly. The nurse smiled and walked out the room.
