Second Proposal

All existing player factions ceise existence. Players join existing Freelancer factions (Navy, Outcasts, etc). That's how it is done on most roleplay servers, and that's how I would prefer it to be - but not exactly in the way that many servers do. I will reveal more details later along the discussion.

Benefits:

- Real roleplaying.
- No need to change factions while each mod update.
- Storyline possibility - beginning of our History in RP thread here: <Link Removed>
- Possibility of makind the universe more dynamic - players' actions, like system conquest, can be 'fixed' in mod updates and influence the story.
- Faction alignment and joining rules are obvious for everyone, including those who don't play on our server.

Drawbacks:

- Need to leave all existing factions for all players.
- Less freedom for clan wars and alliances - Outcasts and Corsairs cannot be allies, Corsairs and Hessians cannot be allies, pirates may be neutral with navy but never friendly. Kusari and Bretonia navy will be at war (yes, the war did break out).
But factions will be able to choose their way as long as it makes sense.

As for results of the poll, these results were expected by me, and I never said that this poll will oblige me to do how majority wants. Choosing between simple for you (opt. 1) and proper (opt. 2) and simple for me (opt. 3) I still prefer option 2. No one yet gave any arguments why removing player factions should not be done. I see no difference.

No one proved that removing player factions will do alot of harm. For roleplaying, it will be better. If any faction leaders/members wish turn their faction into a normal Sirius faction - I'll listed and try to implement what you are saying. But I need a story, an alignment and territory you occupy. Normal territory, not 8 systems or something like that. Corsairs have bases in 3 systems, outcasts in 2. For any other unlawfuls, 2 should be the limit.

And I still think that concept of controlling numerous systems by unlawful factions is not right. Corsairs and outcasts are the most powerful criminal factions, as you remember. It's fine with them to have several systems; but what about other criminals - Lane Hackers for example, or Mollys, or Dragons? They all control only one system, with maybe one more to expand, but not further. That's the price of being unlawful.
