Bretonia Mining and Manufacturing has always appreciated works of individual engineers and teams. A lot of our technological infrastructure is and has always been acquired this way.
The BMM Board of Directors are Proud to announce our 5th engineering design contest!
This year we will focus on alternative solutions to both the popular Dacite and Mafic mining ships
BMM is looking for
Mafic alternative that is slightly more maneuverable, this will likely mean an armor and power plant decrease, we don't want anything substantially different, just something that gives this ship a slightly different taste then what's available. (same general volume, slightly less HP, slightly less energy, slightly more maneuverability) (250m)
Dacite alternative that has the same general stats as the normal Dacite. We want something bretonian. (250m)
Basalt alternative: Possibly shrimp like ship. This is meant to be a LF so design it like one. It must look Bretonian (200m)
Titanic alternative: We want something that has a similar look to the titanic. basically we want pretty much the same stats (especially shape!) but we want the ship to look like it can easily scoop up ore. (not as a mining ship, but as a collector from other ships) --doesnt have to be in the "bmm line" (Currently no reward offered!)
This should follow these rules for .87 or .86 if we are really lucky.
- Ships are to be sold in Thames Outpost.
- Ships are property of BMM, and not in the "civilian" tech tree
- Ships need to have a Bretonian texture. Make it look nice. Don't make this ship look like an RL elaphant or a rhino please :<
Rules: 250,000,000 Credits(mafic, dacite) will be awarded when
- Texture/Model are complete
- Functioning, balanced hitbox
- BMM approval
- Dev team approval
The models will be split in the following way If a work was done as a group effort, when a ship is submitted half-done (the end product must pass!)
Model - 30%
Texture - 25%
Hitbox - 20%
Stats - 10%
Gun mounts - 15%
We will pay 200 million for a basalt replacement.
If one modeler makes all 3 conscutive submissions that pass the final stages, a 100 million bonus will be rewarded.

EDIT: original prototype ship design submissions will be awarded 10 million credits to encourage activity in this thread. utterly crappy submissions will get nothing.
