Reconnaisance of the Kansas System: Phase 1: Sectors 1 through 4.
Kansas seems to be a system devoid of any corporate or criminal life. No trade lanes or official Jump Gates. In order to conduct a thorough analysis of Kansas, I took the following flight path:
Kansas has two suns, a Medium Green and a Medium Blue and is home to two planets and two moons, which I shall discuss later. My very first observation was the particles floating in space. They are truly phenomenal, but my scanners could not identify what they were composed of. There is no background radiation present.
There is nothing remarkable in Sectors A1 - H1. On my route I encountered no ships, structures or phenomenon of any kind.
In Sector Two, there is an area of key interest. Below the horizon, there is a large red cloud. On further inspection, it is boutniful in Iridium. This means a large number of miners, the only contacts in this otherwise barren system. The cloud has sensor efficiency reducing qualities, and is named the Tuttle Creek Nebula. Irridium is highly profitable and miners of it are a key target due to their use of the Magellan system. The majority of the nebula is situated within Sector F2. Within the cloud, I uncovered the wreck of a Lane Hacker Sabre, named "Rattlesnake". I managed to recover information from its black box recorder and uncovered that the pilot had been following strange emissions from the cloud. On research I uncovered an Unknown Jump Gate of Alien design. The Jump Gate does not register on scanners. On questioning of locals, I discovered it is linked to an 'Unknown' system, where scanners do not function at all.
Sector E2 is home to the moon Olathe. Research suggests it once had its own moons, but was dragged into the gravity well of Planet Topeka. It is currently uninhabitable.
Sectors C3 - C4 is home to the Dodge Asteroid Field. This has not yet been surveyed for any mineral or ore presence. There is nothing worth noting in the C3 Sector of the Dodge Asteroid Field.
Sector E3 is where Planet Topeka is located, a large Gas Giant. Also deemed uninhabitable.
Sectors F4-F5-G5 is home to the Overland Park Asteroid Field. Also not yet surveyed to have any mineral or ore presence. Sector F4 in the asteroid field is where a Jump Hole to Virginia is located.
In Sector C4, there is a Jump Hole to Magellan, situated in the Dodge Asteroid Field. Also within this sector there is a Junction Wreck, the remains of a station. The origins are unknown as it follows all other House construction material usage.
EDIT: Recently I found out that this is where NTF have set up their base.
