The GRG, Genesis Research Group - affiliated with the Zoners, of course - is a legacy faction which arose from the ashes of the notorious Ingenuus Research Group (IRG) which was bent back in the day on studying nomadic technology from which their infamous Power Cells originate.
Their main goal is to continue and enhance the work started by the IRG, as well as enhance Humanity's limits and go beyond those. To this end, they strive to create technologies whose goal is to aid mankind and make their lives easier. And, being true to the neutral spirit of the Zoners, they wish to do so in full neutrality without entering conflicts which - and i quote - "could stop or slow down our projects".
More specific in regards to their goals, they wish to implement automation in order to preserve pilots and captains from unnecessary risks - for example, instead of manning a mining ship with a complemented crew, an AI with a skeleton crew would be enough, more or less. Not only that, but they wish to extend this automation to all kinds of services, like logistics, mining and trading fleets.
As a foot note, I've personally attended a lengthy meeting with the GRG representative on Cali Base, in Tau-23; however, I still consider them as a highly suspicious faction because of the lack of clear and solid answers on many questions I had posed.
