This I agree with. I'd love to see people trying to RP out of our hands instead of running quietly etc.
RP promotion was one of reasons I allowed many of RPing freelancers to go - even if the RP could be much better. But maybe you're right, maybe it's best to keep the RP standards as high as possible - not only on our side but on our pray's side too.

That's the point. You're thinking is very pragmatic. Something you would expect from educated intelligent person who is not affected by ideology, religion or other demagogy. And xenos, on the other hand are tied by ideology. So all you have to decide is which way to go in the scales Pragamtism <-> Fanatism. You can't have both. And from opinion I've formed about xeno npc faction .. there is nothing pragmatic about them. I think this is just something we're going to have to agree to disagree on.
For a movement like the Xenos to survive there is a line that must be walked; that is, those in charge have to know when to reign in the carnage so that it doesn't harm the movement itself.
The brutality of the wing you encounter really depends on who is leading the wing at that moment. Sometimes you'll find that a freelancer ID ship that says all the right things is let go and other times he is forced to ditch his cargo irregardless of what he says.

Well, I totally disagree here. In the world surrounding us, we have many people calling themselves Christians and hating everything that is "non-christian" while being pragmatic, usually also pretty intelligent people. Same for other relligions of course.
So no, I don't agree that fanatism precludes pragmatism or wisdom.
And no, the xenos are also living on planets of course.
Oh, and I could also say that the idea that the trade with foreigners is the primary stone on which entire Liberty economy stands on is in fact pure propaganda of globalisation fanatics.

What materials liberty produces? I know bretonia gets metals. Kusari fuel. Rheinland minerals. What Liberty produces? Universal shipping company, ageira technologies (which bases it's income for inovating stuff for other houses). Maybe synth paste? But there is no industrial power in it.
P.S my bad, I've most likely misunderstood your point. Anyway I can't hardly concider it to be intelligent. educated yes, but not intelligent.
Nevertheless, reality is as it is.
So are the xenos.
In the same way as you don't see that many "christian avengers" walking on the streets of our wonderful world, you also don't see that many extremist, fanatic, "kill everything in sight" xenos.
You can also notice that once in a while, an independent group of xenos appears. Group of xeno extremists. They kill whatever crosses their paths. They also die out fast.

You can't jugde quality solely on period of time it lasted. Some people just had a good time, got bored and moved on to something else. While official faction status demands activity to maintain it. I don't say that it's primary reason for XA- to exist, but it's one of them. Also, being the only official xeno faction which is well known (for good or for bad doesn't matter) attracts attention of potential people who don't like to fly alone, but would like to try something new. This helps with activity as well.
My point it doesn't nessecery depend on quality of course of roleplay.

There are some mineable fields within Liberty and it's claims.
There are some more mined and refined on planets.
It's not that bad as it might seem.
Besides, the fact that some fields are not used is in many cases caused by cheap foreign ores.
And yeah, I agree that our activity is not dependant on the RP quality.
That's why I try to add more diversity to XA activity.
Xenos are basically a pvp faction. As such, it suffers badly on the RP field.
I don't mind lawfuls engaging us with little to no inRP discussions. That's their job. That's their RP.
We could kill all the traders in Colorado and call it RP. But what's the point? It's not hard to kill a trader. It's not hard to drop a "die foreigner" line before engagement.
What is hard is to create some consistent reasoning that drives us.
And while you're absolutely right that not all the xenos would be smart, many of us are RPing more or less smart people. Others are executing orders of - what can I say - smart commanders.
XA is a paramilitary, highly structurised organisation. You can't expect 'em to behave chaotically.
I will poke in and remind you how Bakers family tried roleplaying to you lot via chat, but instead got lolganked by compouded Liberty forces and lurking XA- members, who themselves called in Liberty forces. Yes, 3 Scyllas and stuff. But. Come on. Roleplaying via chat Scyllas. :mellow:
Also. do more RP with USI or indy US players. Like, allow them to fence your goods and stuff.
Hell, if you want I would like to set up US vessel and cowork with you lot.
