Wise words Gronath.
Beside that a lot of the youngsters here forget that the majority of their fellow players got a job, family and friends. Therefore the leisure time for playing is limited.
And with all the 'volunteers' within Rheinland we have the best 'recruitment centre' in the whole sector.
You are correct Gronath, but trying to maintain quality by obscurity is comparable to trying to password the RP server in order to make sure people read the rules. Sounds like a good idea? Maybe, but in practice it works not:PSo rather than try to hide your recruitment god knows where, make it visible and apply the strict standards then. Just make it more visible for christ sake, otherwise you are missing out on a load of potential great RPers.
blodo, the RM forum isn't very active. Still its more active than the rheinland revolutionary forum which houses THREE factions. The reason for those circumstances MIGHT be that EVERY RM member has an account on the faction's forum, in contrast to other factions' members like RHA's:P
On the note of the faction's inactivity, I think people are nit picking a bit. It's been a while now since I last logged on the RM forums not to be met with at least a couple of eventful patrol reports. And I log on the RM forums on a daily basis. Also, I must thank Blodo and the revolutionary guys on your tip about the Skype channel. That surely did wonders for the faction's bonding. We even RP our characters' planetside encounters in the channel sometimes.
I would also like to thank our newer pilots (Brunhild, Malte, Westerman) for becoming the backbone of the faction in a time when most of the Admiralty was missing (Dustin going away, Jessy, Kane and I each away for their own reasons). I'm sure these guys are on their ways for promising officer careers. Virus also did a great job revitalizing the faction with the new cleared up ranking system and other key changes that he implemented.
I, for myself, have been coming back to activity this last month or so after a period completely away from Disco. Most of that time I have been catching up on RM's paperwork and getting to know the new pilots. My ships are yet to see a lot of space time, but I always have troubles keeping up with the routine this time of the year anyway. Admiral Krieger is bound to return to active duty by the next half of this month. Meanwhile, I'm sure our pilots are more than capable of handling Rheinland's security.
I've been on my RM chars a little this past week or two. I have to say, when I've been on, there have been other RM tagged players as well. Also a lot of very well played indy chars.
A new generation of RM is in its infancy and, I have to say, I like what I see so far. As long as the basic principles of RM are kept alive and well, this faction will continue to be one of the best. Keep in mind, all factions go through periods of inactivity and waves of new and old chars coming and going What makes a faction strong and long-lasting is it's leadership. We have to keep Virus in the top spot. Other than the Phantoms, I can't think of another faction that has kept the same leader for so long. RM is going on 3 years now. Long live the Chancellor. Long live Rheinland.
' Wrote:1) RN being allies with RHA even after they clear up the Corsair invasion.
2) RHA keep disrupting lanes and taxing traders but who cares? Not The RM.
Otherwise (turning a blind eye on this matter) I find your RP abilities great.
But i have a feeling RNC has been a lot more active than RM

Beeing allys means sitting next to each other and drinking a beer. Thats what we are clearly not doing with them. (But keep in mind that they are Rheinlanders. Dont wonder if liberty gets a beatup from RHA and RM wingtip to wingtip.)
If the RHA shows up, we roleplay with each other, we dont just go "RHA HERE! CHAAAARGE!"
Sometimes we meet just for the roleplay part, like the VF does often.
We look for them when they are here, but if they dont want to be found, we wont run OORP to all Bases and Jumpholes just to find one or two single ships, because they show up on the player overview.
But in most cases we face each other.

I am sorry if you feel that we are letting you down.
Please keep in mind that there is a possibility that RM did their job, or tried at least.
When we get shot out of our space, we cant do anything against them.
We take piracy verry serious and do everything against it.
What we wont do, is to send out a capital ship fleet just because of 3 Pirates.
They have to face our Fighters or Bombers.
Rheinland is a hard place to be. There are a lot of Aces out here, especialy in the RHA. And they are active like hell.
So dont wonder when a RM says "Oh no way! Im not going there without backup".
We have a good activity too, but also got work to do. And i dont mean Freelancer-Jobs.:P
But anyway we will try to improve about your concerns.
Ah and this RNC, its not a faction.
Take a look at the NPC cruisers or gunboats.
They all have this prefix.
From what I've seen, the RM is still doing a great job. The ones I'm farmiliar with are great RPers, and I can say they know how to RP a professional military force. A lot of the best RPs I've had with Udo were with the RM, and in his case he rarely engages in combat unless his fellow LWB are threatened.
But the various back-and-forth chats we've had with Udo politely asking for Donations and rambling on with the RM parked by whatever base have been worth it. Great stuff that I'd like to continue.
Also, Malexa, you owe Udo after that little incedent in Vierlande. Seems you got his hopes up. :ylove:
