Few days ago I’ve been contacted by a certain Zlato, an old pirate who would like to be in peace with his past. I learnt he wants to kill a criminal named Ivan Norovich. Apparently he came in Bering very recently and he is now under the protection of some Unioners.
Whatever about him, I find his intentions…interesting. He proposed to Harmony to help him to eliminate the Syndicalist cell who protects this Ivan in exchange of informations about the Unioners plans and many othet things. According to Zlato, there is a Unioner group who would like to end the conflict by the negotiations.
It seems there is still some “good” Unioners who are not for this useless and bloody war. But if I do a quick calculation, this way is not the one of this Old Corin and of the rest of the Unioner Command. The Union really has some critical internal issues. And now I think I have a good seat from which to watch the new turning of the war…
Entry 12 |10/06/825|:The Unioners must make a choice.
A turning point, a turning point ... This Syndicalist group which wants peace has aroused my curiosity ... And in particular the identity of these people. Until now ideas were missing but I had a little idea.
This Hunter Wolff who showed himself for peace at first could be in this group. I am for peace with the Unioners but only under some conditions and the first of them is to destroy this instable High Command responsible of all the deaths that this war has already caused.
So I wanted to know more. I remembered a old communication channel sent by Wolff just after Marshall Station get NEMPed. So I sent a message to this Hunter. Not to ask him peace solutions but to cease all the communication with Shadowwalker and who I think has already done enough damage in his mind. Maybe even too much.
I did not wait very long for the Unioner to answer me. As I expected, and in spite of all the proofs, all the reasoning which could have made him aware of the thing, he remained blinded or even dogmatic. What a pity ... And now he places his hopes in Admiral Linford? I wonder if he is not kidding us.
However, he seems determined to end this conflict. But the balance must remain a balance. There will be no peace as long as Hunter is not hostile to Shadowwalker. We will be able to discover what choice he prefers. And he has an interest in making the right choice.
I wondered when this moment would arrive. When could we finally deliver a fatal blow to the Navy's High Command? The patience is a virtue. Some time ago, our spies in Texas informed us that the 5th Fleet flagship, the carrier Jack O'Neil was preparing a risky patrol near the planet Chisos.
Admiral Linford has accordingly, and to my great satisfaction, given priority to this vital mission. We deployed very quickly yesterday around 18 UTC, a part of the Discovery Taskforce near Chisos in order to make an ambush. The fleet consisted of Discovery, the New Jersey under my command and a fighter escort.
Some Legion fighters also joined our forces. Once ready, all that was left was to wait for O'Neil's arrival, carrying infected personnel on board. The flagship arrived shortly after with a battlecruiser as escort and as well with fighters. The surprise for the Navy was total. We took advantage of the discord to strike hard, and fast.
We did it. The O'Neil was destroyed in close combat with the Discovery. This last one suffered serious damage. Jersey has suffered damage as well, however it is now operational.
This day was by far one of the most important since my arrival in the Separatists. We have finally been able to carry a hell of a blow to those infected. It seems that the Nomads will have to find substitutes ... My crew also celebrated this victory.
But I have doubts ... And if this was in reality a pretext of Linford to say: "The work is done. Now, kill the Unioners. "? The Discovery is immobilized and the Unioners will be able to seize this opportunity. It is true that we killed infected people. But I'm afraid that now Harmony is focusing exclusively on the Unioners war instead of continuing and exploiting the tremendous breach we created yesterday.
I have to say ... I came here to fight the Nomads, and the infected Navy and because it was already a long time since I considered Liberty anymore as a home. The same feeling inspires my crew, but I think they are not yet aware. Only the future will bring me an answer. I am waiting for you, Future.
This war against the Unioners is bothering me. I didn’t have any answer from Hunter Wolff. That’s weird. Maybe he finally tried to putch Corin and his company and failed? Whatever, the things have changed now. I and my crew feel it too.
I needed to take a shortly break, for that I went to Minor. Planet Toledo’s situation is so depressive. All these wrecks… The Omicrons are the most hostile space of Sirius. But that’s understandable. I had during this little patrol an unexpected surprise. Two Order vessels detected me and came to my position.
One of these vessels, the Selket was a Core battlecruiser! I thought I was drunk at the beginning. The other one was it seems an Order cruiser. They were not hostile fortunately and we discussed both of our situation. The Captain of the Selket was in the 5th Navy fleet! I didn’t believe it at first. Sometimes I feel the destiny does things we don’t expect.
I introduced myself and what is Harmony and our goal. They were more preoccupied by my presence alone in the Omicrons. It seems they trusted me, and they invited me in their homeworld, Omicron Mu. I knew before this meeting that the Order left Minor for another system, but I absolutely didn’t know what was it, and its name.
They escorted me until the Jump Hole which leads to Mu, not far from Toledo. When we jumped, I appeared in a mine field, with many protections ships around. This system is beautiful, very different of the other Omicrons. This sector is very wild and Mu looks like a developed system and well secured.
I was impressed. We continued our meeting but sadly not for so much time. Secured or not, Mu is within the Omicron sector and it doesn’t escape to the rules. Order fleet has detected a whole fleet of Nomads and infected invading the Omicron Mu. Several of the infected ships had a Kusari origin. A Nomad engaged me first, and my ship has been seriously damaged. Nonetheless, I survived and back to Bering.
I’m disturbed. Many different thoughts jostle each other in my head. Each time I go in the Omicrons and each time I feel I should fight directly the Nomads.
Liberty Navy High Command has been purged of many infectees the last week. But they will still fight us. Liberty is corrupted more or less. Anyway, I don’t feel Liberty as my true home anymore. Many members of my crew asked me what we would do after this war. I didn’t have a correct answer. My life and their life changed when we learned about the Nomads infection. They are the drama of ours lifes.
That's... Indiscriptible. Of course that possibility was present since the beginning. I knew we could lose the SNS-Bering. I was obviously aware. If not I wouldn't have engaged myself in the Navy and less in Harmony after.
Yes. We have lost the Bering. But anyway that's only a ship. In this tragedy I especially lost many of my crew. And more than a crew. They were my friends. Here again, that's a consequence of the wars. But the responsibles this time, are the Nomads.
I don't understand their intentions. And why they are focused in appearence on me and my crew. First, there was this soudain attack shortly after I left the Navy. Then there was this mysterious system we discovered with the Unioners. Then, the Nomads brought a battleship to destroy my ship, in Bering. And the last day, those infected who came to destroy as they mentioned "Me" personally in the Omicrons.
I think the circumstances changed. My crew and I want our revenge. But Harmony is now in a bloody and useless war with the Union. And the Navy have been purged of many infectees since the ambush against the O'Neil.
What can I do now ? I discovered how the Nomads threat is worrisome. I'm lost. I don't know what to do now, if I should leave Harmony to follow my ideal. Hm. I've an idea. But, this will be risky.
What a terrible day. So many things happened these last times. I finally had my meeting with Lewis. As expected he tried to kill me for his own interest. However he gave me some infos about the LNS-Ontario a battleship patrolling in…the New Hampshire.
I will check that later. First I got important things to do. I decided to leave Harmony to fulfill my ideal and my crew one’s. I prepared very carefully the departure. Convince my crew to follow me wasn’t a difficult task. We left with my Guardian and a Rhino. We bought a shuttle on Curacao and went in Alberta. We are now hidden on the Freeport 14.
I ordered to my crew to be the more discreet as possible the time I find a solution. I sent this message to Harmony after my departure. I hope they will remain in the doubt. I don’t want to have some mercenaries on our backs.
I must find some allies who could help me. I need obviously money and thought about it. When I saw I had those guns on my ship, I thought they can be sold at a good price. So I made a Sirius Wide Transmission with fake credentials. I hope to find someone who will buy me those guns.
With which faction I can be allied? I must convince them. Hellfire Legion? No, if Harmony discovered I’m a traitor they won’t help me. The Lane Hackers? Of course not. They will immediately inform Harmony. The Order? Legacy don’t want to kill humans. And I don’t trust yet the Overwatch. So potentially, I only have one organization left: The Unioners.
That’s madness, yea. But I still have some friends within the Union, and this decision won’t impact too much my crew though. But how I’ll convince this famous Corin Frei? Mhm, let’s see. But he will be not disappointed, I hope.
For the moment, I didn’t meet any difficulty. Someone answered me to my Sirius Wide Transmission and has accepted to buy my guns at the price fixed of 1.9 billions. The pilot named Richard York came to the Freeport 14 as expected. However I have to be mistrustful to anyone now. So I was ready to the worst case. But the meeting was very pleasant. Our dear Richard York left with two guns…and me with 1.9 billions.
I have all the cards in hands right now. Next step is to contact the Unioners in order to have their help for the capture. I don’t trust their High Command yet but we’ll see. I wonder how they will react to my communication.
Well, well. It has been a while since I didn’t write here. Everything is going like I hoped it.
I contacted this Corin Frei who leads the Alster Union since some time right now. I had a very interesting answer from them. In the same time the contrary would have surprised me if they would have not did it. I was one of their enemies after all…
And now here we are allied! Maybe that is not the correct word. But they have accepted to help even if they maybe didn’t want it. They will deploy their forces and their marines in order to capture and bring back the battleship. Excellent…
Of course, I had to pay a high price in return. The Unioners obtained in exchange several informations (between us really useless) and about Hunter Wolff. I imagine he has been eliminated according to Corin and Rousse…I told him to not do it. I will pay also 3 billion credits to the Alster Union. That is no really a problem as I got this valuable cash from the selling of my two guns. But also with all the saving I realized during the months I passed within the Separatists and with all the successful parties on the Freeport 14.
Nonetheless, I still have a doubt. If we succeed to capture the ship, who says that they won’t kill me and keep the ship for their own interests? That’s really a nice opportunity no? I must find a way to avoid this tragedy. And I maybe know how to do.
At last! We have finally captured that damn battleship. That was an intense battle. As expected my informations were correct. The Unioners dispatched a task force in order to escort the transports and attack the battleship.
I was inside of the Unioners boarding vessel. The marines were confidant. Anyway they were all volunteers for this risky operation. I could see the battle from an observation post of the transport. That was awesome. The Unioners bombers launched their Incapacitadors torpedoes, the shield was quickly disabled. Then the battleship Westphalen and some cruisers concentrated their firepower on the LNS-Ontario.
The battleship had its engines damaged and the electromagnetically weapons inflicted serious issues to the internal ship systems. It was time to attack. The Unioners ships ceased their fire and we have started to aboard the LNS-Ontario. The marines were like lion and wanted to jump on any Navy soldiers. We have entered. That was the total chaos. The marines charged against the Navy marines completely lost. Some sections have been quickly captured and many crew members surrendered.
I was on the radio and my mission was to lead the marines inside the ship. That wasn’t an easy task. Several times I lost the contact with them and the sector where I was posted suffered many counterattacks. Meanwhile it was important to take over the Computers Room for obvious reason. The Incapacitadors protected us a time from all the defense systems but out time was limited. That is why Gunda sent me an interesting pirate robot which can pass through small passages. Immediately when our marines reach the section of the computers room, they launched it. The robot had to disable for some minutes the main computer. Like that our marines would have the time to take the control of the room. Though, the robot couldn’t pirate the computer but we exploded it manually with a little electromagnetic bomb. This disabled the computer during a sufficient time, and our marines took the control of the Computers Room.
Unioners also used some methods to progress fast…The ships was seriously damaged, but still operational. The last navy marines regrouped near the Control Bridge. We met a hard resistance there but they finally surrendered. We made prisoners the remaining crew. Under the escort of the fleet, we joined not without difficulties, Pacifica Shipyard.
The LNS-Ontario is currently in reparations. I have to contact some entities to help us in that important task. But eh, the capture operation was a great success.
Skagerrak...A forgotten name. But a name that will do fear our enemies. The repairs are doing pretty well. I have to say the damage were very important and some of them very difficult to repair. The priority has been accorded to the engines. Yea, my most important fear is that Harmony finds the battleship and organize a siege with the Legion and reduce the Skagerrak in a wreck.
Fortunatelly, it seems the two sides have limited their recons missions. Once the engines repaired, we will be able to move the Skagerrak out of Pacifica to another Unioner shipyard somewhere if the situation exiges it. For now, everything is fine. My crew is often talking with the local Unioners on Pacifica. I have a team who uses the small transport that they have bought in Rheinland saying they were Freelancers...Not so wrong however. Freelancers well trained at least.
I dedicate a lot of my time to follow the repairs with the engineers. Sometimes I give a hand too and try to be useful. Corin Frei and Franz Rousse are harassing me constantly. They want their money and they know I have it. I prefered to wait before to give them it, but I will give them the three billion tomorrow I guess.
Thanks to the Gaians, Junkers and the Unioners we have all the resources to repair completely the battleship. The engineers of Pacifica are doing an awesome work. I think we can start the overhaul soon.
