I thought pirates could get sanctioned for PvP abuse if they tried to demand stupidly big amounts...?

The point of the thread is another ! Simple one !
Does the pirate have any rules to follow ? I'm not seing any ! The pirate could request 100 mils and if you do not have (even if you proove that to him with screenshot or setcash code) he can just kill you ! Any pirate has been ever sanctioned ?
Generally pirates are not nice people! I am sure blackbeard didnt stop the ships and only take a 3rd of the cargo or only a liitle bit of treasure. He took the lot, killed the crew and either took or sunk the ship. Generally we pirates arent that bad!!

Of course they have. Go read the Rules section, or visit an optician if you allready have read the rules section and didn't see any.
A Pirate has to make a demand. If he kills you without that, he is in violation of server rules. If he kills you even if you have no money/cargo, he is bordering on being in violation of 0.0. Depending on the situation, the amount of RP involved etc etc, he could get sanctioned for PvP abuse. It has happened before, and it probably will again.
If I was pirating a miner without cr or cargo, I would either let him go, or demand that he dropped forinstance all his bots and bats and CMs into space - If he don't want to do that - Well, all server rules has been fullfilled for the pirate to kill him. If he did follow orders - well, then I would not kill him, since he stayed in RP and followed the RP demands that my Pirate gave him.

If I were pirating in Dublin I would ask you to drop all your cargo, or die.
Why?
It's our gold, we don't want anyone taking it.
We can take the gold back our way or a nicer way but ultimately, you will not be allowed to leave with a single ounce of it.
Yep. Come join the crew in T23. Occasional Outcast, Gallian bandits and lost junkers but at least over there the IMG and CR are giving them a good run for their money. Props to Panzer and his piratekilling crew;)
Alternatively, there's a few quiet, out of the way spots that do not get pirated too often if you don't mind slow, lower profit mining. The hydrocarbons around the T29-Kyushu gate (T29 side) are an example: Sell at Tsushima, just one lane and a gate away for a reasonable profit. Pirate comes? Jump to Kyushu and Battleship Nagumo will give the pirate something to consider. It's basically a safe spot, albeit for a lower profit.
But yea, Dublin gold is just asking for pirate interceptions. Corsairs, Mollies, Outcasts, Gaians... too many unlawful factions in that vicinity. Get a strong (4-6 people, of which at least 2 defenders, fighter or gunboat) party together if you intend to mine/haul from there.

yea right, I don't think only Dublin is a nightmare for miners. You can be safe when you are in groups.
A lone miner is just a very juicy target for a pirate.
Thing to know: When you see that a system has multiple lawful in it, you can be sure that the mining operation will be much more Serene and comfortable. It does not take much to discourage the usual casual bandits.
