the remake looks gud but no one except the freelancer vets will play it the reason being? freelancer is dead from a long time and abandoned
The thing is that remaking Freelancer means , actually remaking it which means coding the whole game into a new game engine , introducing new function but keeping old Idea in mind , in new game engine there will be great graphics and all fancy things but it requires pretty fat budget to get done , hiring professionals , advertsiment campign etc
Can Discovery Dev team edit on the source of this game and make it better or contact with Microsoft to buy the game ( with donates ) Freelancer has large community of forums that maybe would help to give donates to buy this freaking game form Microsoft.

I mean if Microsoft didn't lose the source. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Sorry to burst your bubble but this has zero chance of happening.
You need to be legal entity appearing to have some cash in the bank before some new-business or accountant in MS would even start thinking how many billable man-hours it would take to put the value to FL's IP, source and assets. Forum is not legal entity. It has no right to legal representation and thus has no right to be side in talks for buying IP.
And even if this has happened, we would be likely talking in upper six figures. They are corp so they gotta have some internal manhour valuation and game's cost to develop corrected for today values and IP's value loss + possible profits would be likely entry point for them.
Finally, you would have to make fact of IP being for grabs public with donation-drive announcement, and this means you would be at risk of being outbid by other game studio/publisher that would get interested in it but had more money in their bank, just like it happened with Homeword where some indie studio was outbid by Gearbox.
With situation like this best bet would IMHO be writing opensource clone for FL's game and server executables using decompiled executables as reference. Bet even then this is going to take boatload of effort to get to state where it's useable.
...or you can pray for your lord and saviour Chris Roberts to have a whim to buy and opensource FL to compete with SC huehue.
He's certainly one with money to pull this out, but he may assume that doing so will cannibalise sales and attention from SC and thus not be in his best interests in long run... unless he goes "OMG PLAY FREELANCER TO KILL THE WAIT FOR SC!" and put game fixed to run on modern systems on GoG.
