Many of the Players here Play this game to to enjot rhe company of other Players. IF we wanted to hear RL junk talk we would go to the Mall or a sports bar....
NY is the capital of the Liberty system. Before PvP was allowed in NY, all factions in NY, lawfuls, unlawfuls and neutrals, suffered from it being something of a dull spot to their RPs. Since NY is their capital it was really dumb. It is odd for a police force to be forced to put up with all sorts of criminals and not be able to do anything about it.
The biggest problem is that NY is indeed a hub. A big hub in Sirius, in the RP Sirius, and people had to put a stop to their RP right in the heart of the known space.
Not only that, there's a big difference between Connecticut and New York. PvP is allowed in Connecticut. Connecticut is a dead end, so people won't abuse it to circumvent RP like NY was used before. Before the invulnerability shield was lifted, NY was a thorn in the side for many people who tried to play the game.
Also, even though it changed, people still hang out there regardless...
And I agree with everyone when they say it's not fair when the server is full and there's people trying to get in while there's people inside just hanging out. Problem is, the community got very big and there's no way the old NY scheme can support it properly.

I'm not whining just stating the facts, it was nice having a neutral system. not everyone likes to constantly play the game in total RP some like to kick back and enjoy some neutrality once and a wile.
sounds to me like the problems lies in the servers if they cant support the member son ti any more. only a matter of time before people wont be able to get on anyway.

And yes, you can just fly 100k away from a base and chat there - but you STILL didn't gave any argument specifying WHY a chatroom isn't conresponding to what you want.

i have to go through hostile territory just to get to con? if anything free passage between con and NY and such should be allowed for those purposes. because if not it leaves a huge problem for anyone wanting to got here. or else the only people who can safely get there are the liberty police and such. how is that fair to all the other factions?
And what stops the power hungry liberty people from ignoring you and attacking anyway, or camping con so you cant get out, or charging some ridiculous fine. or labeling you "KoS" for some stupid reason

just so you know, I was a mercenary when I went in conecticut from time to time with my friends to race, and mercs at the time were all KoS listed in Liberty.
I don't want New York like that. I disagree. Having NY be no-PvP discourages RP, and it sets a negative impression on the new players. They get an impression that RP is not necessary, since they spend the bulk of their time in NY.
I'm not going to read the entire thread, but here are a few thoughts.
Con is a PvP system. There are no NPCs there, mate.
Being on the server so you can just chat with people and shoot NPCs at the same time? Don't think that such a great excuse for taking up precious server space...
The server is not a chat room. RP Events that require significant RP-Dialogue is fine. Keep non-RP chat in group chat, or private, regardless of where it is...This is simply good form.
