I assume your about average->professional cruiser/dessi pilot
Im definetively AVERAGE in gunboat flying. Im not exceptional, i can barely handle flying + turret view at the same time.
So far, in my 8 months in here, ive solod the following in a cap 5 trident:
LABC
Liberty Siege cruiser
Reseph (order thingy)
Storta (during training)
Corvo
Scylla (a rouge rogue, how....ironically, Outcasts provide no shelter for rouge allies)
NEVER in my time as a trident pilot has i EVER been able to solo a Ku Dessi. NEVER. They mop the floor with me, even when i can tell the pilot is horrible. Simply put, very slow gunboat turning, big gunboat size (Heck, the salvager, which is a GB/Transport hybrid is bigger), and the firepower is almost TWICE that of a siege cruiser (if you ignore the fact that you wont hit with every FW gun shots).
Zelot, i know you like kusari, but never has i managed to solo a ku dessi, ive been close. Closest iv'e been; no bots, no bats, and 18% hull left. That was a cap 6 dessi.... Most ku dessies has like cap 7 or 8, since the ship is almost on par with a light battleship once you learn to fly it well.
1) Yes the Kusari Dessy is so small that it's a practical joke. It's a Rogue Gunboat with a hatchet.
- That wont be changing. Probably because of something about windows which prohibits changing out shields/armor/weapons or something like that.
2) Yes the Bret Gunboat is so large that it's actually larger than said dessy by a considerable degree.
- See 1.
3) The Kusari Dessy, on average, gets steamrolled by the Bret Dessy
- People don't care because they're in a fighter being rolled up by a rather tough gunboat.
4) The Kusari Dessy can fire mortars and razors Q_Q
- Turret slot changes are coming. AFAIK the Kusari Dessy will not be slinging an abundance of heavies. If any.
5) Kusari lacks a heavier cruiser
- Then what is this BC infocard I've written for?
' Wrote:Yes, but Kusari does not have that. And as I understand, past attempts to create one have been fruitless. So that leaves us in a bit of a quandary...
The first question we should be asking is "Why have past attempts been fruitless?"
' Wrote:what other dessi can be solo'd by trident?

Sit on it's ass, cd, shoot, repeat, deas Kudessie.

@Zelot
A decent dessi captain can easyli get around that tactice if he just use his brain 2 1/2 second
A decent gunboat captain can easyly escape from the Ku dessie.
Gunbaots are not meant to Solo Cruisers, if you did it against others? Good for you. That you can't against the most agile dessie around doesn'?t indicate a problem with the dessie.
I have solo'd a Siege Cruiser on my Lib Gunboat, the only cruiser I have solo'd, but to be honest, the guy in the Cruiser was a complete rookie. I bet if I find that guy flying a Ku dessie, I'd beat him again (if he has the same skills than before).
A decent dessi captain flying any other cruiser should be able to kill your gunboat too, right?
I made an Argus cry "mommy" with my Scorpion while it, nine fighters, and a Hydra were beating on me and my two wingmates (a Scorpion and a fighter). We all died, of course, and they took no casualties, but I did make it cry uncle even before the other Scorpion went down.
This, however, is hardly indicative of the usual, or of overall balance. I have a particular aptitude for dealing with things larger than myself regardless of what specific ships are involved (in a Bundschuh Odin, I once got a Das Wilde Rheinland Gunboat to flee). The Argus captain in question wasn't terribly combat aware either. While your experiences may be indicative of the "problem" (quotes used for skepticism) the fact that a cap V Tridente cannot solo a destroyer explicitly designed to destroy gunboats hardly strikes me as an argument for resizing it.
The problem, if there is one, is that as the Kusari Destroyer is balanced toward fighting smaller craft (gunboats, even snubcraft to an extent) the logical counter would be a larger cruiser. The BAF can easily deal with that, as we've established. However, the Kusari revolutionary forces... can't. This is why my previous suggestion was "fix the Kagutsuchi, then figure out what needs to happen with the Kusari Destroyer". I stand by that suggestion.
To address Freestalker, yes, brilliant idea, let's go to a completely separate balancing concept after spending months revising things for 4.86. It might actually be ready by the end of May or so, but not if we do another overhaul. It's also a pretty silly idea to separate things that close together in size.
