Bandwagon hate detected.
If the RoS and The Colonials really must be deleted,(which I really don't want, but oh well...might happen) then they must be killed off. InRP. The Colonials getting wrecked by the Gauls or something and the RoS by the Coalition. I dunno'. They shouldn't just disappear. It's pretty stupid to have them in-game once and then make them disappear like the Phantoms. It's really ooRP and I don't personally like that thought.
Short version: Make them go away inRP or let them stay. ))

No no no. No hate or bandwagon or both at all. That was just my opinion. Atleast i didn't hear something about the Colonials to be deleted. And i guess that never happens. Just want them to be gone. Not because i hate them but i don't like non vanilla factions very much. And yes. If something has to go it should be atleast a bit in-Rp. Like your example with the Colonial. Simple but plausible.

...Of course it's an option. You may not prefer this option, but is indeed a valid option.
Honestly, reviving something just because "it's cool" isn't a good idea. Since this is an RP server, unless you have a VERY good story as to why the RoS vanished and now a new breed of pilots somehow magically appear with RoS ships and stuff, then they just need to stay dead.
There's already plenty of other dead factions out there besides RoS with cool RP and stuff that could use your love, and what's even cooler is that their ID is already open.

Not because it's "cool". They were the core of activity between OCs and Sairs so they had a pretty good role.
I also sense a little hate here because people pay more attention to RoS than other dead factions.

I must disagree with this statement.
I played a good bit of Outcast back in the day, and I rarely saw an RoS. Typically, the bulk of activity between OC's and Sairs was nothing more than players on both sides logging on and raiding the other side's respective home, or meeting in Eta/Omega-whatever, the one with the Neutron Star and Freeport.
The RoS is dead for years and I hardly believe anyone but Lohingren would be able to find their role in the current Discovery environment.
The faction was made from nothing, their weapons, ships and even system.
If you want to revive the faction just because of that special stuff they have, create your own faction, make it different, try hard to get extraordinary stuff. They managed, so anyone else can aswell.
The faction was a hodgepodge of Corsair and Outcast stuff mashed together. I never really understood how the lore of that faction came to be - but then again, I can say the same of the Phantoms and some AI factions that cropped up here and there. Just let em die already - if you so desperately want their ships to get a proper home, give their snubs to another faction that heavily relies on the Borderworld line, such as the Bundies. The weapons were basically clones of the Outcast Kraken and Dragoons, so there's no real pressing need to keep that tech in the game.

Guys, stop being a dog in the manger already. Let them try their luck with stuff, which nobody using anyway!
It won't harm in anyway. As Aeternus said, RoS tech is BW-OC mixture with diffrent visual effect, so no OP tech going to be abused.
Also, I disagree, for letting factions to die. It's completely unsmart. This should be used as possible resources, to hold players in games, something, that would attrack people, and not "letting them log out" just because it's all became too boring.
Just take this ocassion as example- guys wana to play RoS and reanimate faction a little bit. So, for few month, there would be something interesting, which might attract some players to stay and play longer. Might be some of you would even join. JUST USE ALL GODDAMNED OPTIONS!
P.S. Ofcrs, if having 30 players as average number is fine for you, then keep going! You are on right track.
