What a freaky day:
1. A Routine Mission that ends in an Anti-Capital Ship Fight against Secondary Corsair Fleet
I'll let the picture speak:
We lost 2 Nyxes in the course of the battle, but managed to take down the two Osiris class ships after we summoned all bombers and also the Mafics that had a torpedo launcher.
To be noted: Our new recruit Johny Rico participated and fought bravely on his very first day.
2. A hit mission that ends in a Corsair Standoff with 3 veteran Gunboats
While we were on a hit against a Corsair gangleader, we received intel on 3 Corsairs blocking the access to O7 at the O3 gate. We jumped in, ran past them, excuted their boss, then confronted them.
We seriously underestimated their firing power (or I did), and one of our Bombers was severely damaged and the pilot had to eject. An AI cruiser that I had hired for this hit against the pirates was destroyed fast by the fire power of these gunboats.
I retreated to Freeport 1 after another AI offered to be shot at instead of me... I will never understand these machines.
3. A Revenge Hit against the Gunboat Corsairs into their Heart
After our strike force had failed, I exchanged my moderately damaged ship against a new one. By chance I saw the Reaver mercenaries and talked to them. I found out that they were hunting the Corsair Gunboats, so I told them about the incident and followed them in their hunt.
We tracked them trough many systems, chased them and in the end attacked. One gunboat docked, and one of the three that hit us went down hard in a bright detonation.
After that we retreated and I went back to Cambridge to resume a normal miner's life.
Jack

Congratulations, Ms.Johny Rico, you seem to have had quite an intensive first day, Sir. I guess you have broken the record when it comes to completing the 3 reports. I was assured by Mr. Henderson and others who participated in some of the reported events, that your performance was good. Keep it up.
Good luck, and I hope to hear only positive reports.

Area of Operation: Omega 7, Ebersfelde Cloud (The Northern Field)
Ship Class of Operation: Hegemon, DU5 - 7Y Civilian Mining Ship
Ship Name of Operation: IMG|Bumblebee
Material of Operation: Cobalt Ore
Summary of the Operation:
I was in the bar when I heard of an ALG Golem approaching Omega 7. Apparently it was asking local miners to get filled up with ore, and luckily I was the first one to respond. The ship call - sign was: [ALG]-TGX-Saale. We decided to fill it up with cobalt ore, although the field with cobalt ore was nearly dead. Once we reached to the point where the Golem was filled with 3100 units of ore we were about to end the operation. But! Right after the ALG had sent the transaction a miracle happened. Out of nowhere more and more rocks appeared, and we decided to fill up the Golem. After I was done with the operation I returned to Freistadt Base for a meal with a bottle of wine.
The mining operation took about 40 - 60 minutes to complete, and ended at about 7 PM.

Congratulations, Mr. Chris Carman, even though your reports are too short for my taste, the IMG Department of Freistadt was adamant in stating that you earn that promotion for some high speed mining in Omega 7 (I quote a Freistadt Comms Operator: "5 miners filling everything that could not run away fast enough"), for a Cobalt run to Munich, Ingolstadt Station, followed by a Small Arms Trip to Akita and Mining Machinery to Java and the trip ended back at New Berlin after Niobium was picked up at T39. After I had read that incredible report, I threw away my criticism at the short reports. You are a full member of the IMG now, Gentleman.
Good luck, and if you write reports, add some more details, please.

Fellow guildmembers,
It is not often that the Guild meets crossroads as the one we are on now. Sirius is rapidly devolving into a fullblown war between all the houses, and I fear we will get swept up into it sooner or later. Kusari and Rheinland have allied against Bretonia and Liberty. While Liberty and Bretonia have the military advantage due to the large standing forces of Liberty, Kusari and Rheinland have the initiative, and likely greater reserves in terms of fuel, and raw materials. A war of attrition favors them.
Thus far we have tried to remain in a neutral posture, denying access to our bases to military craft in conflict areas. This has allowed us to keep our current operations going, albeit hindered by the various embargoes. Yet we are being pulled at from various sides.
Bretonia has requested to meet with us and various other parties at Gran Canaria. Likely they will ask for our direct support in the ongoing conflict with Rheinland, citing our recent struggle with the partwise annexation of Omega 7 by Daumann. Additionally, the Red Hessians have requested the Guild to voice a direct, open support to their cause, basically to endorse their legitimacy within the house. They have not requested military aid however.
The consequences to accepting or declining both requests cannot be underestimated. While I seriously doubt that Bretonia, given their current predicament, will pick a fight with us at this point, having Rheinland annex all of the Omega systems and push their borders out even further will likely result in the end of our mining operations there. Direct support for Rheinland instead would cause us to lose the favor of the Hessians, and Bretonia. It will gain us nothing however. Rheinland does not have a history of thanking allies for their support.
Supporting the Hessians politically rather then militarily could still result in the entire guild being barred from Rheinland. Although I am uncertain if they would go that far, given that their own war on two fronts requires a vast amount of resources, not all of which they can obtain easily. The Hessians have always looked favorably upon us, and have come to our aid when Rheinland started to take military action against Freistadt. Rheinland authorities long since knows the Guild and the Hessians share at least sympathies for eachother. Giving those sympathies an official voice however, could cause the Rheinland authorities to label us rebels in league with them.
A third option is to try and broker a ceasefire, and ultimately some kind of accord between Bretonia and Rheinland. Given that Liberty and Kusari have also gotten involved, this option has become very difficult. Kusari and Liberty might not appreciate this option, as it robs them of a flank to strike at their own enemies. The lines between the houses are blurring. However, we do have a friend in both Rheinland and Bretonia: Our partners, ALG and Gateway, respectively.
I know many of you have roots in Bretonia and Rheinland respectively. This is no decision a single man should make within the Guild. I thus put it to a vote. Any guildsmen, core guild or secondary, please make the following choices known, and optionally, motivate your choice.
* Military support for: Bretonia / Rheinland / Neither (remain neutral)
* Political support for the Red Hessian cause: Yes / No
* Attempt at brokering a ceasefire and diplomatic resolve of the conflict: Yes / No
In a weeks time, the votes shall be tallied and opinions weighed. Until then we shall try and maintain a neutral attitude to all parties involved, and stay out of the fighting.
Regards,
- Johnathan Sanders, Guildmaster of the Independent Miners Guild

Stay neutral. We only have to lose if we get involved in this war. However, a denial to either sides would also sound bad and would have a bad psychological impact over the diplomats and our relations. So, offer them humanitarian aid... to both parties and defend our assets in Omega-7 if anyone decides they represent a good tactical position.
As for the hessians, no... just no. They're hiding fugitives and thieves. They represent nothing more than a bunch of criminals. What political support? They're brainless murderers, not some liberation army like they call themselves.
Now, the third option is interesting. You think you can handle such negotiations? If yes, why haven't you, the Guildmasters, start such negotiations when the Bretonia - Kusari war started? Or when the Liberty - Rheinland started, eh? I say we'd better stay out, completely.
To sum it up:
Military support for: Neither
Political support for the Red Hessian cause: No
Attempt at brokering a ceasefire and diplomatic resolve of the conflict: No
As year long member of the guild, member of the Old Rock and Champion of Niobia, I am here to give you my opinion on this very important topic.
It is clear that there is no possibility of staying neutral in this conflict. As we have seen, both Bretonia aswell as the Hessians have asked us for support. By both accepting or denying this, we already pick a side. So the best choice of all is to pick the side that is the most beneficial to the Guild. Also, think of the Zoners at FP1, I don't want a similar fate for IMG bases in the Omegas.
Let's see all choices....
Red Hessians: Honestly, I don't see how this would benefit us in any way. Firstly, they do not have enough resources to help the Guild economically. Secondly, they have no real military power against a house, especially not Rheinland. Siding with them would make us enemies of Rheinland and lead to a great loss for us.
Bretonia: They have already asked us for help, and this should be enough proof not to side with them under any circumstances. Let's face it: That house is seriously weakened because of the war with Kusari, and much more weakened than Rheinland because of Liberty. There is no way that Bretonia could win one war, let alone two wars, even with many allies such as Hessians or parts of Liberty fleets or us, or even if we sided with them. Siding with them would be as fatal as siding with the Hessians, therefore the Guild should deny any help to Bretonia. Think about it: What do we have to lose if we deny them? Nothing. The Guild has left Dublin long ago already, as it is too inefficient and dangerous to mine there. The only thing we could lose is the Hood, but I doubt that they would bring up enough forces to take it if they already fight 2 wars.
Rheinland: Without a doubt, allying with Rheinland, would be the best choice here. Why? Because, as it is already impossible to stay neutral, we are forced to pick the most powerful side, which is, undoubtedly, Rheinland. In all encounters between the two houses so far, Rheinland has been victorious. Furthermore, it can bring up more troops than Bretonia, as it is not as weakened from it's own war as Bretonia. We also need to take in account that we have very profitable mining fields in the Omegas, and it would be fatal to lose them. However, siding with this house could lead to a problem with Liberty, therefore we must use special tactics such as using ships with hidden transponders, so that there is no proof that IMG openly supports someone, atleast enough to let us operate freely in Liberty.
To sum it up....
Military support for: Rheinland, using hidden methods
Political support for the Red Hessian cause: No
Attempt at brokering a ceasefire and diplomatic resolve of the conflict: No
