With 4 flacks on my osiris I have easily been able to take out all turrets on Nomad BS's rendering them just interesting objects to fly around. Not sure what issues are preventing some of the other folks from doing this.
This was I think in orbit around Planet gammu, about a week or 2 ago. They jump in often and within a minute or 2 have no weapons. Did it to 3 of them within about 20 minutes.
Once I had a system ID'd I would make sure to direct my fire to that area of the ship which takes a little bit of manuvering. Within a few seconds of fire it would disappear. eventually no subsystems would show up on my scanners.
It helped to take out all gunboat and fighter support if the BS had them first.
Has anyone tested component damage for Vanilla fighters and capital ships in the new beta? If no tests were done, they are needed to balance out components; if they were, I'm anxious to hear the results.
Components are the basic parts of any ship and vanilla ships mostly have them. They include fins, wings, weapon slots and some capital ships have components different than those including turret slots as well. I might run a test to check the eagle's current stability against torpedoes and missiles within my faction if we have some people on tonight and report you back about the results.
I think they are.. and they are even deadlier than before with the increased damage output they posess now. Yet, they are not completely unevadeable or uncounterable in my opinion.
Well according to the test results, the eagle lost nearly 70% of its hull integrity against a cannonball launched from the front when it was sub-targeted via side wing. And it was diminished to pieces against a sunslayer torpedoe when it was sub-targeted via its top fin. (eagle had the armor upgrade boosting the hull with the factor of 2.5)
every fighter that I flew dies to a single sunslayer... so I don't see why eagle shouldn't.
And a good placed cannonball takes 50% hull of any fighter also.
Everyone uses sunslayers now yes... they are counterable and avoidable yes... only problem is there is no alternative - as Mini Razor and Inferno (that don't kill in one shot) now use too much energy.
