Carrie has a new (old) apartment on planet Manhattan. Now she needs to make it a bit of a more livable people. Clean up the kitchen, remove the old paper-hangings from the wall and repaint them. She already has it pictured out. New furniture and all sorts of stuff. She bought the paint and already started to paint some.
The apartment isn't really large, actually it's quite small. A small living room, kitchen on the side of it. A door to a small bathroom with a shower and toilet. And a bedroom. A little balcony which you can enter to, from a door in the living room. The apartment itself is on the 7th story. The flat it is in, is about 12 stories high. The view isn't really impressive. Busy roads, other high buildings. Most of them higher than this one.
Having just a mattress in the middle of the living room. Some paint buckets and some other paint materials.
Carrie couldn't be bothered though, she finely has something of her own again. And the new second hand Eagle was something that made her really cheerful too. Now she would invite a few friends and together they could make this apartment into something nice. Something she could enjoy living in.
['¦]
Carrie had sent Concordia a little message with the address information, asking her she could come and help a bit with the painting and other chores that needed to be done. Carrie already started painting one of the walls.
Two girls were running in the streets near Manhattan main astroport.
Actually... An attentive observer would have noticed that only one of them was running.
The first one, a big smile on her face, was scampering along, aimlessly as it seemed, and was dragging the other girl in the process.
Meanwhile, said other girl was trying to follow, mumbling often in Kusarian...
The second girl finally yelled "Not so fast Missie~~~ Nyyyyyaaaaaa!"
Turning her head, the first girl stopped and glanced curiously at her friend. "What's wrong, love?" "You are going too fast, that is what's wrong!" she said making a somewhat comic pout.
Of course, seeing that, her friend bursted out laughing, which lead to the girl pouting even more. "Miss is a baaaad girl..."
The first girl grinned softly and started to mess with the white hairs of her friend. She then hugged her suddenly... "Shiro honeyyyy..." "Gah! Release me! Release me!"
It took a while until she granted her her wish.
Shiro picked crab steering to slowly get out of her friend reach, while the other girl was pretending to not notice the maneuver, trying to not laugh.
Shiro decided it was a good moment for a diversion. "Miss... Where are we going?" "Rahhhhh... I told you three times already!" said her friend, laughing.
"I remember you talked about cookies." "Hmmm... I did?" replied the girl mischievously while scratching her lower lip. "Hai. Miss did." "Rmmm.... Don't remember?"
Shiro shook her head, frowning. "...Liar." "Ah! You think you can say that and get away with it?!" shouted the girl, smiling. She then ran towards her friend.
Shiro's heart skipped a beat.
She knew well enough what her 'friend' had in mind. Her panicked eyes focusing on those hands expert in tickling approaching her, her mouth formed an horrified 'O'.
She then did a bunk.
"Hey! Shiro! Come back here!" "Nooooo~"
The girl stopped after a while, laughing. "Come on Shiro. I'm serious, stop! I said we would go to Carrie's new house and we're late already!" "Missie's fault!" Said a voice, coming from behind a billboard.
She chuckled and pretended to be offended "What? How could that be my fault!"
"Missie stopped at that shop to buy those shoes but she didn't have money, then missie stopped at that bar when she saw those two men drinking... Then missie talked to that woman with a baby carriage and then..." "We did all that? Woooaaa... Hmmm..." The girl smiled mischievously "Okay maybe it's a bit my fault... But just a bit!"
"Missie is..." Shiro stopped when she noticed her friend was watching her cheerfully from the top of the billboard. "Uh.. Miss... I don't want to go." "Ohhhhh?" The girl looked at Shiro thoughtfully, tilting her head. "Why?!" "Because~~~"
She smiled softly. "I told you she had cookies."
Shiro considered that statement with suspicion. "Mayyyybe... But she doesn't want to share with me."
Her friend winked. "Then we will make her share!" "You think?" "Yay! We will tickle her to death until she gives us all the cookies."
Shiro thought for a while and suddenly nodded. "Okay we go!"
Carrie was busy with ripping of some old wallpaper from the wall. Preparing the wall for some painting. The room was pretty much a mess. Some plastic sheets on the ground, to prevent paint from falling onto the wooden parquet floor. A ladder was standing against the wall. Some paint buckets in the corner. A few old wooden chairs were standing on the other side near the wall.
The doorbell rang some moments later as she was just cleaning her hands. 'I suppose that's Connie.'
Carrie left her work behind and walked over to the door.
She was right, opening the door she saw a smiling girl, the other hiding behind it. 'Hey there, love. You know Shiro, right?' One of them said with a cheery voice.
Carrie nodded. 'I think we've met, yeah.' She looked over the shoulder of Concordia at Shiro a bit curiously.
Carrie smiled. 'Cookies right?'
'You have some '¦ ow'¦' Shiro stopped, she was thinking about Carrie never wanted to give her any of those.
Concorida chuckled. 'Shirie'¦' 'Hm.. come in, don't mind all the mess and please watch your step.'
The three girls walked in'¦
Carrie led the way through a small hallway which ended up in the living-room. The bedroom on the left.
Concordia left Shiro and started to look curiously around, visiting all the rooms. "Uhuhhhhh... It's big! Liiiike... That!" she said, spreading her arms wide.
She kept entering and leaving the rooms, searching for something, obviously.
The two others girls were trying to follow her.
Shiro pulled the tee-shirt Carrie dressed with to paint. "What is the miss doing...?" "Hmm ehe... I'm not sure." Replied Carrie.
"I'm looking for the bed! Where is it?!" "Ahem... No bed Connie... Yet. I still have to buy it." "Really? But where do you sleep?!"
Carrie moved to what would be the bed room of the flat and pointed at an old mattress lying on a corner of the room. "Here."
Concordia rolled her eyes and smiled mischievously. "What? But you cannot do funny things on that one!" "Funny things?" asked Shiro, yawning "Like... Sleeping~?" "Rmmm... Yay... And other things too!"
Shiro tilted her head, not quite understanding, while Carrie lowered her head, sighing while smirking softly..
Concordia giggled and then shook her head, appearing to be rather sad "Carrie... Carrie..."
She ran and hugged her "I cannot leave you alone, can i?" "Ahem... Ehe..." she replied, looking rather embarrassed and taping softly on her friend's back.
Shiro pulled the old tee-shirt again, whispering "Miss must be careful. The ghost miss is surely planning something."
She then nodded sagely and walked away a bit to avoid any bad surprise.
"Anyway!" Concordia quickly left them and moved to the room where Carrie started to paint. "Ohhhh? You started already?" "Hmm... Yes."
She beamed "You still want white flowers on that blue?" "Ehe... Yes... That would be nice." said Carrie, with a fair amount of reserve. "So let's start then! You want to paint with me Shiro?"
Shiro was still keeping a reasonable distance from the two other girls. Tilting her head, she replied : "I don't know..."
The girl laughed "Come on! It will be funny!"
A cunning expression appeared on Shiro's face. "Cookies first~."
Carrie smiled a bit towards Shiro. 'Cookies, always cookies.' She mumbled a bit.
She turned her look to Concordia who walked over to the mattress, jumping a bit on it. 'Aw'¦ it's not soft at all.' She kept bouncing on it,
'Erm'¦ want something to drink, Connie, Shiro. With a eh'¦ cookie, I think I have a few?'
Shiro's eyes turned brighter as she heard Carrie say it, excitingly nodding. 'yay, I want some~' 'uhoh, me too!'
Carrie walked away to fetch some drinks and cookies from a small wooden closet in the living room.
Concordia smiled mischievously towards the white haired girl. Jumping one last time and sat down legged onto the mattress.
Tapping her hand on it, gesturing to Shiro to come and sit next to her, still smiling towards her.
Shiro shook her head, her eyes wandering off in the room, somewhat expecting what intention Concordia has. 'uhuh'
Cocordia stood up, smiling as only she could smile mischievously. 'Come sit here'
Shiro shook her head again. 'Nono, waiting for the cookies~.'
The smiling girl stepped forward to Shiro, her fingers pointing, her tongue stuck out a bit. 'Sit down or I'll tickle'
Shiro looking out nervously for a way out 'no tickle' 'yes, tickle' Concordia chuckled
It didn't long or both the girls were running around the room, one laughing the other yelling. 'Stop, stop stop'¦' , 'Sit, sit sit.' Conordia laughed.
Carrie walked in the room, holding a little plate with some glasses and a little box which possibly contained cookies.
Shiro stopped running her eyes noticed the little box. Carries eyes looked at the box, smiled as she saw Shiro's look at it. 'ooooh, target!' 'Gotcha!' Concordia jumped on Shiro's back laughing'¦
"Yayayayayayaaaaaa!" Was shouting Shiro, trying to crawl away, while Concordia was frantically tickling her back.
Carrie looked at them, a bit puzzled. A vague smile appearing on her face but she turned around. "Come on, you two... Stop being silly."
She shook her head and sat on the mattress as Concordia was nibbling Shiro's ear while giggling. "Miss! Miss! Look..." Started Shiro, thinking about something that could save her "A cute maaan~"
"Oh?! Where?!"
Shiro already got on her feet and ran behind Carrie who was struggling to keep a neutral face.
"Awww... She lied." finally said Concordia, lying on her belly on the ground. "Seems so..."
"Uhhh... I'm exhausted!" Said the girl, laughing. "Bad Shiro honey..."
Said Shiro was already busy nibbling a cookie like a little squirrel, not paying much attention to the two others.
Concordia finally stood up. She stretched lazily. "Anyway... We were supposed to paint? I want to paint the unicorn honey!" "Hmm.." Carrie was closing her lips in disapproval. "Flowers i said. Flowers." "No!"
Carrie looked at Shiro for a moment, giggling quietly. Then she turned around with a more serious look on her face, going after Concordia.
'Connie!'
Carrie rushed to the room, seeing Concordia moving her hands over the walls as if she was measuring something.
'I want Unicorn here' Con' turned around with a smile.
Carrie shook her head. 'Erm.. Connie. First I want everything blue.'
She gestures to the small blue part on the wall that was already painted.
'And after that we can paint something on the blue wall. But I wanted flowers, not the Unicorn.'
Carrie placed the plate with the drinks on the floor in a corner and walked over to the paint buckets that were standing on a piece of plastic. With a little wooden spoon she stirred up the paint. Dipping in a paint roller.
'Ever painted before?' 'uhuuh'¦'
Carrie smiled a bit in response.
'Here I'll show you' She placed the roller again the wall and started to paint a part, showing Concordia the example. 'Ah'¦' Concordia laughed 'That's easy.' She picked up a second rolling dipped it in the paint, a bit careless and followed Carries example to paint the wall. 'Hoh, calm down Connie, paint a bit slower. And make sure it cover everything, erm... do it like this' Carrie continued showing Concordia the example.
Shiro showed up in the room, she looked around a bit desperate. 'The cookies'¦ They are gone~ Where did they go?'
Carrie paused the painting for a moment, Concordia who was concentrating on painting continued focused on what she was doing. 'There in the little box' Carrie gestured to the plate in the corner with a little box on it.
A gloat look appeared on Shiro's face. 'More'¦'
She rushed to the box opening it.
"Uhhhhhh..."
The girl was sticking out her tongue out while concentrating on passing the roller on the wall.
She wasn't paying attention to Shiro who was watching her and Carrie painting, her eyes wide opened in curiosity and a cookie in each hand.
"Rmmm..." She stopped, looking quite displeased as she checked her chest.
Some blue paint soiled her somewhat dirty fly-suit and she shook her head in despair. "Ohhhh! That's the only clothes i have..."
"Well? You will just have to change when you get back home, Connie."
She then smirked a started to paint again. "That fly-suit would need a good wash anyway."
"Can't do that. I have no homie for now."
Before Carrie could ask anything she added : "You have something i could wear while painting?!"
She was taken a bit by surprise by the girl's answer, but as Concordia started already to open the suitcases she put on the corner of the room and containing the few personal effects she had, she attended to what was most urgent...
...too late.
The girl just found her way to her underwears and was starting to show them to Shiro who didn't seem to be listening nor watching since she was busy eating.
Concordia giggled again and started to slap her softly with a bras strip. "Connie... Please..."
She smiled mischievously at Carrie and finally rolled her eyes. "Okay okay... So what can i wear?" "Hmm..."
She sighed and dropped the roller.
Moving to the suitcases, she started to open them and patiently searched in her clothes.
"This."
She gave to Concordia blue overalls that made her pout after she studied them. "That isn't niiiiice..." "You will just keep them as long as you paint." "Buuuuut... What if a cute boy suddenly enters in the hoouusie..?"
Carrie smirked again softly. "Ehe... Well... Why do you worry? I'm sure you would look nice with everything."
A big smile appeared on the girl's face. "The means i'm ugly when i'm naked?"
"Hmmm..."
Carrie already turned around and started to pain again.
Not a good idea to enter in that kind of discussion. She all knew how it could end.
The girl glanced at her and finally shrugged while smiling. "Awww... You didn't answer." "Hmm... You were saying?" She asked absently. "Ewww..."
Carrie couldn't repress a cheerful smile as she was facing the wall, painting.
Meanwhile, Shiro suddenly turned around when she finally noticed Concordia was undressing.
She moved away a bit, trying to not look back while mumbling something in Kusarian...
Carrie was still smiling as she continued painting her last part.
She turned around facing Concordia with a bit of a chuckle. “I still want to say, ehm.. it looks good on you.”
Concordia looks a bit crooked at her overall. “Hrm... I still don't like it.”
She looks around... “Hey where did Shirie go?”
The girl starts searching for Shiro who seems to have walked back to the bedroom. “Shirie...?”
Carrie smiles briefly and lays down the roller as she finished a part of the wall with blue paint. “Hm. don't know where she went.”
“Shirie...?” Concordia walked in the bedroom, she laughed when she noticed Shiro.
Shiro who was walking back and forth through the room mumbling things in Kusarian. “There you are.”
Shiro tilts her head as she stops and turns around to Concordia. She giggles a bit as she sees the overall. “What did you do?” “uhuuh...” She turned back to Carrie. “Told you it doesn't look, right.”
“It's okay, really.”
Carrie smiled again, she turned around and looked at the painted wall. 'Not as much progress as I wanted but ... expected' she smiled a bit as she looked at the wall.
“Connie, want to go and finish the rest of wall?” “hrm...” She switched looks between Shiro and Carrie for a moment. “okay” She said with a smile.
“Don't eat all the cookies, Shiro” Carrie said curt before turning around and picking up a roller.
Concordia and Carrie returned to painting the wall, it went more smoothly then Carrie expected actually. Since Concordia got the hang of it after a few tries. At the end of the day they managed to complete two walls.
Shiro was wandering around the house, sometimes just staring at nothing really specific, while taking a bit from a cookie every now and then.
Carrie looked outside, it was starting to get dark on this part of Manhattan, she shortly checked the time. “Hmm... it's getting a bit late. I have to clean up a little here before going to bed anyway”
Concordia sat on the floor admiring her painted part. She nodded in satisfaction. “It looks good, noh?” “Just like I wanted it to look, Connie. Perfect.”
“Shiro... it's getting late, let's go?” Concordia said as she stood up.
Shiro came walking to Concorida, not really saying much. “We're going?”
Carrie shortly nods. “Thanks for coming along though. It's erm... is appreciated.”
Concordia smiles. “No problemo, it was funnn...”
Concordia gives Carrie short farewell hug, while smiling. “See you soon”
Carrie nods again in response.
Shiro follows Concordia obedient as she walks out. While they walk in front of the front window Connie waves to Carrie before she disappears out of view.
Carrie walks to the bedroom, letting herself fall onto the mattress, rolling over looking to the roof. She smiles as she feels satisfied with her new home and the current progress, plus having somebody like Concordia around, who never seems to fail in making a laugh and keeping things cheery.
