' Wrote:Just thought of something. Given the importance of Blood Diamonds shipping for many Rheinland factions, it's kinda weird to see them missing from the list. By many factions i mean Hessians, LWB, Unioners and Rogues at the very least. Junkers too, perhaps.
I guess some BWTs/Ragnars/Behemoths/PTs/PTrs with BDs could fly around a bit, from O-47 to Dresden, or from Dresden to, say... er... system with Pacifica, from Pacifica to Dawson base, or all of it, or different combinations.
The LWB, Bundschuh, Unioners, and Hessians do not have any transport models for their shiplines, unless I missed it. This is why they don't have transport smugglers like the OC, LR, etc.
' Wrote:I'm going to guess that there are two types of cargo for NPCs. Persistent and Dynamic. Dab is listing what you will always find on these NPCs (persistent). The dynamic cargo probably changes, as its name would imply.
Could be wrong, I've no idea, that is just what I think.

They use Behemoths and Pirate Transports mostly, would be pretty funny to see some of those, even if they dont belong to their shipline.
I just thought of something. If NPCs are using such big clumsy ships like Shetlands and Colossii, won't they get stuck in gate and lanes a lot more? This could get very annoying since you can't jump through a jump gate when an NPC is stuck on it.

I made it a policy not to use out-of-faction ships for any NPCs. Once you do for one, you have to for all. This is why the FA NPCs use retrofitted Mamorus instead of Black Dragons. Corsairs only use the Raba because they were its original designers as per lore.

Corporate transports are separated into two separate shipclasses in the code. class_transport and class_heavytrans. The large ships are heavy transports and have not yet received spawn locations. As I add them, I will be testing their use of tradelanes, but I don't anticipate any problems.

Hessians still uses Sabres, and it's alright? Well, BWTs are also from the same shipline.

Hessians have used Sabres and Stilettos from the start, but they do produce their own shipline. All of their NPCs would be using the new ships, except that the RHA faction leader specifically requested that they be mixed instead of fully transitioned. There might be BWTs, there might not. There definitely won't for the initial .86 release, as I've got several time-sensitive projects to finish for it, and adding Hessian BWTs are not a vital part of the mod. Plus I've still got extensive testing of these NPCs to do. (Other devs can't test it effectively, as they don't know what ships should spawn, thus, don't know to report when they don't.)

Are you planning to give new Hessian hessian cruiser an appearance as an NPC patrol in some of the Omegas?
Awesome. Looks like NPC transport raiding is gonna get even more fun!
But is anything being done to address survivability issues between the different houses? You know, how people can travel through most of Liberty with impunity due to NPCs being less dangerous than a bloated gnat while going through Rheinland in a Starflier is effectively pirate-assisted suicide?
Whether this is through toughening the weaker ships or rearranging NPCs doesn't really matter to me one way or the other, but this seems like the place to ask.

Yeah, well, poke me if you need and want help with that, a short manual would be enough for getting started in this i suppose. As for RP reasons, Wolfsburg actually produces BWTs.
