here are two concepts of a matching design of a pirate based train and repair ship ( or lifter ).
the idea is to provide a logical modular design.
the train is basicly just an array of armoured containers with support engines, the bride module is attached to it - and linked via a rather crude bundle of power connections. - the repairship is based on the same module - but has claws and tools attached to the connector.
the main idea behind the train is - that ... in case it becomes compromised, it can blast off the connection between cargo and bridge - and retreat as a very small and self propelled module instead of just escape pods.
the concept is that lawfuls would most probably not destroy the cargo just then - but try to chase the pirate crew, which has now become small and agile like a fighter - or freighter. - leaving the valuable cargo behind - ready to be picked up. - so the lawfuls either leave forces behind - or leave the cargo unprotected - at least for a short time. - in which a backup group may pick it up again.
the idea to use the same module for a lifter or repair ship is that -.... firstly - pirates do not have a repair ship - and secondly... making use of the same section is efficient in terms of ship building.
those models are mostly just to play around with - cause the current pirate train is a fairly simple model, which - while of good quality, is alightly too simple, imo.
I really like that new Pirate Train, it's a bit more wasted and gives more of a Rogue/Molly Feeling. This one looks better than the old one. That's my Opinion, my Question is: Is it larger than the old one, because that one is pretty small, even smaller than the Transport.
I don't know what to say about the Lifter. In my Opinion it would be better to have the Lifting Thingy behind the Bridge so it wouldn't block the Vision. The usual Repair Ship grabs something from above and the Heavy Lifter is designed to lift Cargo Pods. So lifting a Ship or even carrying it with the Front would be weird

If this gets in, I'm ditching my Pirate Transport for this.
Edit:
Now, if we make that Lifter's arms into "scythes", we can have a ship that can slice into the hull of a larger ship and board it. Somewhat like a Pirate "Raiding ship".
its kind of a hybrid ... - the claws are meant to keep things in a fixed position - so its good to have things in the field of vision.
when its about transporting things - yes... its of no advantage to have things in front of the bridge - but it can also swing downwards - so it kinda keeps the cargo below the entire ship.
i mainly made it to demonstrate the usefulness of modules for a pirate faction - houses like liberty may not quite have a need for such designs, cause they can afford to build specialized gear and ships... pirates usually have less resources - and need to build multipurpose ships.
actually - i mainly made it with the prospect of a repair gun in mind.
at some time - a repair gun will probably come- and when its time for that... it wouldn t look too good when pirates were foced to dock with house planets to purchase one - which would then also look out of place in their fleets.
The cargo and the command bridge separated in that way....mmm nah.. makes it look weak, a cut in the wires, a good shoot in the thin part and good bye...
Honestly would look better if it look liked like the lawful tanker
The wires on the Pirate Train look frail, and since these ships travel on cruise most of the time(smuggling and all), I can very well picture a stray asteroid breaking them.
Also, the connection between the containers and the main module looks rather weak as well.
The Pirate Lifter/Repairship looks good though, and fits its civilian counterpart in its utilitarian design.
The Connections on the civillian Trains, meaning the Cargo Pod Connections are about as thin as the Connection from Main Part and Bridge at Jinx' new Pirate Train.
Also, I like how you used a similar Bridge for the Repair Ship.
