Ye, cool, but imagine how could it would be for that to actually happen...
Exactly why complain about the "control room" or bridge or call whatever you want that part and the cargo pods? They looking cool really, and i think i can say everyone likes it as it is, not? For me it seems like The.Blockade.Runner gonna have much more work if we get these ships. Anyways the PTrain is quick made tranport ship built up from cargo pods engines and a bridge. They solved the power problems with those cables 'coz they got nothing else, and we also have shields on our PTrains and those shileds can protect the cables.
I was confused, then, by the use of the same mesh on the thrusters as that on the front grills of the container module and the ship...
A further critique/idea: on what is a throwaway pod like that cargopod, you could display that standard of not hiding components under a shaped chassis rather more, such as by having pipes and other things outside of what is a set of apparently heavy armour plates: The current private train does much the same by the gaps in its plating revealing things underneath, but here you have what -is- a fairly strong, fancy chassis, and a fully complete outer shell.
Yeah, very nice train model indeed. But it looks too fragile. Pirate trains are used for pirating aswell, therefore they should have pretty strong hull armor and no external wiring or weak connections between the modules.
As for the lifter/repair ship, it's great but could use a bit of armor aswell.

I have never seen a Pirate Train pirating someone. The Pirate Train's Task is to carry Cargo, not to be intimidating and able to kill other Transports. That's the Pirate Transport's Task.
Also, if you think the current Pirate Train is not fragile, then you're wrong. It's two Barrels with Plates and a Bridge and that's it. These Plates are even thinner than the Armor Plates on Jinx' new Model.
While everyone is talking about Logic, in this Case about Defense, let me take the Logic onto a different Level. Look at the current Pirate Train, to be exactly the Cargo Pods, to be precisely those two giant Oil Drums. As an ongoing Specialist for Logistics these Drums always bugged me, why? Because they are one giant negative Point in case of transporting Stuff. They are round. Means you cannot use the full Capacity, there will always be empty Space.
Also, looking at how they are placed onto the Pirate Train, you cannot take them out. They are built inside the Ship, thus it will always be required to stay at the Station and wait until it is fully loaded. The MK2 Version of the Pirate Train gives a massive Advancement towards the old Version, they can just detach the Bridge and attach it onto a new Cargo Part. This is way faster, easier and logical. The only Time the Crew spends on the Station is to get a new Cargo Part.
Just think of the whole Train being a Truck with a Container.
"Who is it doing this synthetic type of alpha beta psychedelic funkin'?"
The pirate lifter/repair ship is cool, but I cannot say the same for the train, the currnet model is clean design and I really like it.
