Hmm I think im understanding this and i do notice a flaw and that is that it looks different from other transports so my thought is this have 2 ships that look Identical like so

Personally, I'd like to see large transports with light cruiser gun hard points, gunboat shields, no cm or cd, cruiser level hull with the handling of a brick. Also, about 2k cargo, available to house corps only.

That'd have to be a pretty terrible gunboat pilot facing an extremely skilled battle transport pilot.. The ones doing the fighting shouldn't be carrying much if anything. This is about responding to the continuing trader vs pirate escalation that has been going on for years.

New kind of ship requires modelling and it is a way harder then just adding proper transport weapons for a price- so even the non cruiser factions would be able to have something that bites. Extremly high prices of those weapons(200-300 m to fully equip one transport to Q transport) and huge cargo requirements would balance them.
About the GB vs Transp - In 4.85 was possible with huge difference of skills, in 4.86 it is not possible due to TS.
It is really easy and possible to make also shield that blocks % of the cap guns weapons- put it at 1000 cargo and 100 m price. It is possible to give transport options without OP them. Just one willing dev is needed.

Also @Vrabcek I agree, this isn't intended to be an "I win" button, but instead level the playing field and give a half dozen people the ability to destroy one guy in a cloaking cruiser that the police can never catch because he simply cloaks and runs away.
Pirating in a cruiser is pretty stupid and it might be possible that it destroys the whole convoy without any problems.
Thats why the rule regarding cruiser pirating should be added back instead of buffing transports...
The positive discrimination towards caps is too much already and it would be awesome if it would finally stop.
