no lobby, no reason, no models - probably.
to be honest when i came here i saw the LH battleship on the wiki. i was like wow. When i had the money for it i did rep my ship to get that bs. It was gone. it was replaced for the arbiter if i am not mistaken. I don't know why. but for LH to have a bs would make sense. as xeno's are allowed to have a venator and lost battlestar? (if i am not mistaken its on that id) And look into liberty. what do you see there? Yeah caps caps caps. These days they even go to the lolicroms to shoot open noms. So the liberty carrier is in this point a big target but i think it can aim almost everywhere. So then open noms are the same as the xeno's meantioned. within liberty. they can use till a gb. and are almost always against cruisers, battleships and are outnumbered because they lack the shield dmg. also AI i have seen much lately there. its also a ship wich in my view is overpowered with those AI cannons. for the sake of PVP ballance i would nerf it. (for RP i would let it and maybe use it as a ladder from where to ballance the others.)
But like meantioned before how you want to make the game. and how you want to balance it. Every advantage has a disadvantage. Sometimes in numbers. (like 5 vs 1) sometimes in equipment. where do you draw the line?

Yet Xenos have a preeeeeetty good track record in downing caps, that's hardly a problem for them with way bombers are broken.
To be honest though I'd prefer House navies to be the only ones with battleships, alongside Outcasts and Corsairs; so they would truly be the two opposing criminal power blocks the info cards seem to mention over and over again. Other pirate factions would have to make deals and alliances with associated RP and so on. I liked it when Hessians needed Outcasts onboard to do the Gamma raiding, for instance.
With the rationale for creating the Hessian BS, more or less any faction could/should have a BS too.
A) they are too agile so they can dodge incoming fire from fighters long enough to take down their target, rendering fighter escorts useless.
B) Novas have too far range, a couple (maybe 3) Nova bombers staying at range and firing novas at timed intervals will bring down any BS no matter how good he is with his flaks (not factoring in the bugged BS's here because they are bugged) - and that with no risk of bombers getting damaged because its happily sitting at safe range.
C) SNAC has turret tracking / "autoaim" making it a viable platform to insta fighters.
All-in-all it requires next to no skill to pilot a bomber succesfully, unlike any of the other ship classes. A trained monkey could do it. True, in direct bomber vs. vhf matches, skill factors in a lot, but then again this is a match bombers aren't supposed to be able to win at all, yet it quite often happens with light bombers.
Well, i think it should be reasonable in RP. I don't like the Idea of Rogues/Mollies in Battleships, Red Hessians with a Battleship and especially Farmers (FA or LWB), GC or Gaians in ships bigger than a Gunboat is a horrible idea from my point of view.

Well, seriously, if several hundred thousand miner community without proper infrastructure and access to most required resources are able to field battleship-class vessels, there's nothing holding Rogues/Mollies and GMG from doing the same.
Corsairs and outcasts with their planet-side population levels and planetary infrastructure and production chains were a totally different case. As for zoners, nobody gave a damn about them, since their caps can't initiate combat or participate in piracy/bounty hunting/any other hostile actions anyway.

It would also make seeing a cap ship a much more awesome sight due to their rarity.
Caps are the best choice for casual players that are not willing to spend their free time in Connecticut, period. Removing them won't make cap-heavy people go into fighters - it will make them leave. And less people is what this sever definitely needs, right?
Making fighters more newbie friendly might have an effect, but I guess the general conclusion is that veterans are strictly against such changes, since it will, somewhat, reduce their skill factor.
Killing solo mining was already quite a terrible idea. (not the simultaneous use of several accounts, but relogging between different accs while miner still remains in the space with ore around it), since this is the way most mining was done around, with exception of officials. I think it, at least slightly, contributed to the current server population levels, like it happened when admins were implementing mining mod 2 years ago, and switched mining off for.. few weeks, I think? (I might confuse these 2 things, but I remember a good drop in server's player base when mining in Dublin got turned off, for a while)

Only if they suck/are stupid.

Yes, and I've never had troubles from fighter escorts, or caps as long as my novas are loaded up and I got wingmen. I've also managed to SNAC quite a few ok-ish VHF pilots.

A properly armored transport will do just fine against a lone bomber or lone gunboat. It will do superb with a Fighter escort who know's what he's doing.
I fly around in my CAU7 5k solo and have no fear of lone GBs, Ptrans, or Bombers. An escort is like icing on the cake.
