Arisu had virtually rocketed out of her seat when Mercer put his hand on her shoulder, now she was simply standing there, glaring up at him, cheeks flushed lightly, glass of cognac & cider being gripped shakily in her right hand.
"Hey don't you know it's rude as hell to sneak up on people like that!? what the fr-...Jesus, I can smell the booze on your breath from here...sit down, Mercer...and of course I ordered you one."
She sighed softly, slumping back onto her own barstool, watching Mercer, waiting for him to sit.
Mercer burst out laughing, he couldn't help himself. It was so bad he half collapsed, grabbing the stool before attempting to sit on it. He managed it eventually, clutching the drink that Arisu had got for him...he looked at it and didn't know what it was.
"Aww i'm sorryyy, I didn't mean to give you such a shock. Not quite the rigid woman you are in your ship, huh?"
Arisu continued to look at him, unamused but she couldn't hold it. She smiled as she took a sip of her drink. Mercer looked at his again, too drunk to distinguish the colour and work out what it was while swaying slightly from side to side.
After some time, Sierra noticed that two of the nuggets he had flown around with, Hotshot and Joker, were together at the bar. Out of the corner of his eye, he had also spotted a lonely warrant officer drinking something utterly disgusting in a bar environment. Coffee.
"Night, check out this guy over here drinking coffee like it's 6am." he said, pointing at Ravis. "I'll go check on the other two nuggets over there, while you deal with him."
Sierra walked over to the two, patting them both on the back, although in a much less threatening manner than Mercer had done. He looked at them both with a slightly-tipsy smile, before speaking.
"Well now, what are you two doing in a place like this? I thought you'd be out on patrol, or learning the ropes for whatever thing you're studying."he said.
As Night looked over his shoulder to the guy drinking Coffee, he couldn't help but laugh uncontrollably.
"I got this Sierra"
He went up to the bar, got a Cardi Mix from the Bartender, who already had a smirk on his face, and then walked over to Tal with his most serious face, putting the drink on the table.
"In order to be accepted into the Colonial Ranks you need to drink this drink in one go. Otherwise you will be ridiculed for the rest of your Career."
Tal looked at the man in front of him with a weird expression on his face. He muttered,
"No thanks, I'll stick to this...coffee. At least I think it's coffee."
He took another sip of his coffee, this time choking on it. It was almost as if his body was trying to reject this second-rate coffee. He managed to swallow it.
She glanced over at Mercer, biting her lip for a moment before shaking her head and continuing to sip at her drink until Sierra approached the two of them, listening to him speak, she simply shrugged dismissively.
"What's to study? I helped torch -three- Valors today...I think I'm all set, it's time to drink and relax."
She smirked a bit, looking back to Mercer, and then to Sierra again.
Mercer nodded in agreement though it looked like he was having a stroke in the process.
"I concur!"He said, putting a finger up.
I'm responsible for the death of a Hispanic fighter and got the winning shot on one of their Gunboats. I think we've both earned our...drinks."
"He took a sip, still unable to distinguish the flavour. It had got to the point where everything tasted the same. He then looked up to Sierra once more.
"Do sit with us, Officer. We can get to know each other!"
Walking up behind Nighthawk was a rather thin Gallic man, whose cold grey eyes had been getting bloodshot in his time at the bar. "Monsieur, I do not believe anyone else would be requiring that drink, nor would they wish to start any habits. If I may take it from you, it would be most appreciated, particularly by the Warrant Officer here."
He simply laughed, and took a seat in between the two. Mercer was pretty drunk, and in the event something happened, it was always safe to be prepared. Experience had taught Sierra that much.
"You two are doing alright. I'd love to tell you about me, but... you know the answer to that."
