Her eyes moved off towards the men who were still gathered at the bar before turning back and looking at Arisu, continuing to smile softly at her. "Too crowded over there, and besides, you look like you want company here anyway.." Chamberlain said as she slid into the seat. Aeyrn merely laughed softly in response and nodded, turning her head towards the men at the bar once more.
"Aye... they look like they're having fun over there anyways. Probably for the best to keep here. Y'know, drunk guys and all." Aeyrn replied, watching one of the Agents wander off towards another booth before she turned her attention back towards Arisu, who had began speaking again, "So...whatcha drinkin', huh? I've been mixing these, myself..." The girl stated, as she playfully tilted her head towards the side and held the bottles out towards Aeyrn.
"Oh... uhm. Maldava rum, it was imported from Corsair space, apparently. Nothing new, honestly... bloody spicy if anything really." She replied, smiling as she looked at the two bottles Arisu was holding, this caused Langley to laugh as she grabbed her glass and downed the rest of the rum without any hesitation nor problem, setting the glass back down on the table and pushing it towards Chamberlain.
"Let's see if the squint can hold her liquor. Hit me, Hotshot." Aeyrn teased, with a wide grin as she leaned across the table, tapping her glass against one of the bottles.
Arisu winced watching Aeyrn down the rum as if it were nothing more than water, making a bit of a pouty face after, while filling Aeyrn's now empty glass about a quarter of the way with cider, the rest with her cognac.
"Let's see if the squint can hold her liquor. Hit me, Hotshot."
Hearing Aeyrn caused her to scowl playfully, her cheeks flushing lightly.
"You don't have to call me that in here...and I was raised in Liberty, you know?"
She sighed softly, shrugging off the comment as she filled her own glass.
"Anyway I bet this stuff tastes a hell of a lot better than your Corsair garbage"
"Anyway I bet this stuff tastes a hell of a lot better than your Corsair garbage."
Aeyrn rested her chin against the table, practically stretched out as she watched her glass being filled by the cider, and then by the cognac. At this point a soft smirk crossed her lips as she slowly leaned back, sitting up and dragging the glass towards her across the table.
"Probably does." She stated, having lifted the glass up to examine the liquid contents, lowering the glass just a bit and looking directly at the woman. Aeyrn's expression carried a soft reassuring smile, as the glass hovered close to her mouth, "So... how're you finding everything here?"
"..You know I wouldn't think that. It's not just the military that is glad to have you still around. As for that little dig, I'll have you know I'm quite the ace of the Firebirds. I don't know how much of your dad's talent has rubbed off on you, rook."
Kyle looked hesitantly when he saw Susan spill a few drops of wine, she was either getting quite tipsy or was genuinely extremely comfortable, he doubted it was the former.
"The Ace? Hah, kinda hard to believe, don't think you remember when your uncle let you pilot his old Eros on your...10th birthday was it? Even after all that instruction you hit the reverse thrusters instead of the maneuvering ones and crashed into the deck. Not sure how someone that did that becomes an ace"
He laughed as he said it, watching Susan scowl back at him, he continued laughing and caught a waiter's eye, he suggestively took up the empty bottle and shook its last drops in his glass, and almost slammed it on his table, the waiter nodded at him. Kyle turned back to Susie.
"I think it was more of of my dad's mind that rubbed off on me, not his piloting. But then again the only time I saw my old man use a fighter was when he was teaching me how not to die in..when I was 9, so I couldn't really say much about his flying but considering all those medals he has his chest adorned with and the rumors of his past coming from his pilots..I doubt I'm anywhere near as good."
He sloshed around the few drops in his glass, twirling it in his hands.
"But yeah, he rarely let me pilot anything but I've gotta admit he went against regulations quite often in order to have me on his bridge, including whilst in combat..think he wanted me to be that cold, calculating commander, not a hotshot Nyx pilot...can't really say."
The waiter returned with another bottle of Dionysus' Gift and popped it open, filling both Susan's and Kyle's glasses half way, then left the bottle on the table and went off to his business.
They both took their first sips at the same time, he put his glass down and sighed, then looked back up into her eyes.
"So, Susie, what's new with you? Other than being an ace of the famous 49th."
Quote:You can't really tell me you didn't come here 'to get smashed'. And if that really is so, I suggest you rethink your decision and get a proper drink. I mean, the bar can only open once, so we everyone should celebrate that, right?"
He turned and look at Liz. Well, I'm just worried I'll get drunk and be problematic. I can't control myself very well when I've got alcohol flowing through me" Maxwell said. "So, what do you do in the Colonial Military then Miss..?"
Arisu found herself smiling, almost nervously, as she watched Aeyrn stretch out across the table. She started to say something, but Aeyrn cut her off, catching her off guard.
"So... how're you finding everything here?"
She blinked for a long moment in response to the question before taking a sip from her glass, and forcing a dismissive shrug, her eyes still focused on Aeyrn.
"W-Well I mean...the people here seem like good people, and you already know that I support their cause..."
She stopped herself, her demeanor becoming visibly less jovial as she wracked her brain for a way to change the subject.
"And...besides, we have the Ambrosia now, so that's gonna make things much more comfortable around here, yanno??" She forced a smile, taking another sip of her drink and cursing herself out for such a weak response.
"W-Well I mean...the people here seem like good people, and you already know that I support their cause..."
Aeyrn leaned back further in her chair, her eyes locking with Arisu's as she listened to the woman speak. It wasn't long until she had brought the glass to her lips and took a sip from the mixed drink, cringing a bit at the strength of the drink and giving a gentle smile as she lowered the glass once more and sat it on the table. "And...besides, we have the Ambrosia now, so that's gonna make things much more comfortable around here, yanno?"
Aeyrn nodded softly, "Mmhm. Quite the bar we've got going on here... though I doubt it'll stay this enjoyable in the future. It is the opening night still, and I can already see other fighter jocks coming in with mere flight suits, so forth." She said as she waved her hand towards a few other patrons. After a few more seconds, she finally broke eye contact and looked down at her drink, smiling softly as she did. "Probably shouldn't have gotten dressed up. Oh well... once doesn't hurt."
"Aw, come on. You don't want to get drunk and cause some trouble? But that's exactly what this is all about....well, even if those who opened the Amb' probably did not think about it that way. You can't just come here, and then...like, do nothing"
Chuckling, Liz drank a bit of her drink before carefully placing the glass on the counter, resulting in a muffled bump sound.
"You just need to concentrate on something when being drunk. On drinking even more, for example". She winked, and looks into the room for a second. "On a serious note now, I really can recommend the "44th apocalypse" they sell here. You should try one. And before you can give me an argument not to do so..."
With a gesture of her hand, Liz got the attention of the barkeeper. And some whispering later, the man, after receiving his credits, placed another glass an the counter, containing the same liquid like Liz had infront of her.
"And seriously, what should I do for the Republic? I'm flying, like anyone in here.
Well okay, to be a bit more precisely, I'm working for the 49th", while talking, she points at the emblem on her jacket,"and I'm pretty proud of doing so. Much happening around there. But...what about you, Mr. Anti alcohol?"
Squished bigly ~Champ- Thanks, you're a champ. "What's the word for when it feels inside your heart that everything in the world is all right?"
Arisu's eyes followed Aeyrn's hand movement, looking toward the other pilots around the bar, while nodding agreement to Aeyrn's comment regarding flightsuits, before looking down at her own appearance, flightsuit hanging around her waist, half unzipped, with her Colonial Military tanktop underneath.
This realization caused her to blush as she looked back toward Aeyrn, now silently comparing their outfits.
"Probably shouldn't have gotten dressed up. Oh well... once doesn't hurt."
Arisu blushed again, shaking her head quickly in protest.
"N-No!...yo-..it looks good! I'm the idiot who wore flight-gear to a bar...it's supposed to be all nice and stuff, and here I am wearing this.." She tugged at her tanktop a bit before sighing heavily and staring down into her glass, biting the left side of her bottom lip.
Maxwell stared at the Liquid in front of him. Either his mind was playing tricks on him, or the liquid started to bubble and that he could hear voices coming from it. The alcohol 'fumes' must be getting to him.
"Ah, so you're with the flight aces in the 44th. I've heard about them. I hear you're good at popping gauls".
Maxwell picked up the glass with his hand.
"And myself? Well, I'm a rook around here. I applied recently and got in suprisingly fast. Maybe there's something unique about me or something... I don't know".
Maxwell moved the glass to his lips, he was just about to drink it when he stopped...
"Oh, you still haven't told me your name by the way. I'm Maxwell Cryoto, you can just call me Max though. Everyone does"
The glugged down the drink fast. Too fast. His throat begun to burn with a fiery sensation and the alcohol quickly got into him. He coughed.
*Groan* "What did you just make me drink...? I feel like a volcano on cardamine" He swayed back and forth, he was getting drunk already.
He then turned and looked at Liz. "Is this stuff legal and/or safe?".
