Oh for the love of all is good (and evil), finally! Just by saying you won't use caps, you already have my unquestionable support. Not because I hate caps (I personally love them, and they're more or less the only ships that I can use decently), but nowadays it seems people is measuring faction success by the amount of big ships they're able to d**kwave around.
An evil organization that uses brains and money instead of pewpew is something that really really REALLY should have been in the game earlier I still have to meet any of you, but I admit the Taus aren't exactly my favourite playground. I'm looking forward to any chance to meet you guys.

Kudos and likewise We have a rule here; if you're going to fly any ship: do it for RP purposes. Snubs and transports quite possibly don't require huge pages of Rp to justify their purchase, liners maybe, but high-profile, high manpower, high-influence ships such as caps certainly do. I think the last time one of our members brought a CW tagged Corvo, we had about three RP posts concerning exactly why we did it, the logistics of being able to support such a vessel under the Freeport's already strained logistical capabilities, etc (we eventually used it as an enormous flying creche instead of a warship ).
Whilst we do use cruisers (yes, Zoner cruisers are OP but we don't plan on attempting to storm Java or the like), we rarely ever actually find reasons to log one. In fact, I see more CW members in light fighters than in any other craft whenever I log with these guys; if you fly a squadron of light snubs to Rp encounters; people are genuinely more likely to Rp (as opposed to shoot) at you than if you just block their view with an armada of bloodthirsty Nephillims all angrily spamming the /stuck command.
Our Rp reasoning for this is that (as Zoners) the Commonwealth is going to hold practically zero interest in wars of conquest/defence/ideology, since we lack the territory to enforce forcibly and we maintain a somewhat relâché attitude to contraband smuggling, along similar lines to the Zoners of vanilla. Commonwealth methodology is to preserve Zoner neutrality through impartiality (striking clandestine deals with no above-the-level favour towards one faction or another). Remember, whilst the Commonwealth are inherently risk-takers InRp, they're also cowards. If threatened with military force they're much more likely to run away than, say, spam with vast InRp unsustainable Armada of Nephs.
Edit: Now I think of it, we only have 1 cruiser.

Suggestion: freighters. Those wonderful ships are dreadfully underused, yet they're among the ships that offer the greatest RP potential (and most of them can still be quite combat worthy if needed). Check, for example, the infocard of the Civilian freighter: the inRP properties of that ship are perfect for the needs of your semi-secret society of rich bastards, and its dizzying speed will help you stay out of trouble whenever it's needed. And it's just one of many possible examples. A small flotilla of freighters can achieve much more than what could be done with big transports.

A really nice idea Druen; it's got merit for it. Currently we're using mostly boarder worlds sabre line LF's (are those Scimitars?) for Rp along with a mix of arrows and ospreys in situations where we think there's a very, very minor risk we're going to shot at (surprisingly that doesn't happen much), but we do fly freighters nearly as much. To add a form of peace-handicap we rarely use code-names for none-escort work and some of our fighters actually lack guns whatsoever as a little bit of extra Rp incentive.
I too am a fan of the Civilian freighter, and they'd go along pretty snugly with some of the civilian shuttles and X-shuttles we're already flying. My only concern is that they don't specifically say Boarderworlds as much as, say, a Scimitar, but they'd be great for small, clandestine place-to-place none-profit freight movement Rp's, or (if we were going for functionality here), unloaders of some kind.
But ye, I agree with you; as an Rp-only craft, not enough people are flying them. However, since we just rekitted our entire faction only a week or two back with our current ship selection, they might not become a primary inventory feature for a little bit of time yet.
It's a nice suggestion though, and by all means reply here if you have any more. Kudos!

Freighters are indeed quite nice for roleplay. You can carry a lot of RP cargo around, make it like a mobile laboratory that can fly around the worlds with a few days of supplies and enough equipment and have your fun. I currently use both Scimitar and X-Shuttle for all rp purposes for my CW character, depending on what I am or we are going to do.
Just decided to give this a bump as I'd really love to hear more feedback and opinions you, guys, may just so I may improve whatever it is to be improved and perhaps inquire for any status regarding the taking away of the 500 mills?
Thank you
