' Wrote:still, OSC is great to go around, but you'd mainly be a downgraded trader since you cant trade everything you'd like.
Well, if you look at it like that, all my traders are "downgraded" (okay, I only have two...). They only transport what is useful for their faction or benefits it in some way.
For me, traders should be hard workers of the big companies and, as such, only transport what they're ordered to. I really don't like all those Police tagged traders... if you want a "free" trader, be careful not to get a tag or get a Zoner tag (and ID in the latter case). This is only my humble opinion of course, and it is not meant as harm.
On topic: what would Knucklehead say about reviving OSC?
well, I was considering for a time to get smuggler ID for my trader. And a name change.
It is suposed to be an undercover mobile shipyard/cargo vessel who does haul all kind of ship building materials as an independent trading vessel, but really takes an important portion of it to build prototypes for the coalition.
''Okay, here's the main route, starting from Manhattan.
Manhattan->Luxury Liner Shetland
At Manhattan, pick up Luxury Consumer Goods($180ea.). Head to Freeport 4 in the Magellan system and head for the Leeds jump hole not far from Mactan. On the other side, head toward Planet Leeds and take the tradelane from there to the Edinburgh Gate. Head toward Planet Gaia (the bluish one almost directly ahead upon exit from the gate). At around 10k, you should be able to spot the Shetland. Drop off the Lux. Goods(~$900ea.) here.
Luxury Liner Shetland->Planet Stuttgart
At Shetland, pick up Prisoners($750ea.). Go back toward Planet Leeds and take the tradelane toward the New London Gate. Exit the lane right around the 5th ring and head right toward the Cambridge Jump Hole. The jumphole is about 15k away from the lane at its closest, so the first trip may take some searching. In Cambridge, go straight ahead to the Omega 3 jump hole, about 13k away. From there, find the tradelane to Freeport 1. Be careful, as the rocks are fairly dense in this area. From Freeport 1, follow the tradelanes and jumpgates until you reach Planet Stuttgart. Drop of the Prisoners here($2000ea.) or at the battleship in orbit(slightly more, easy for large ships to get stuck).
Planet Stuttgart->Luxury Liner Hawaii
This part of the run is time sensitive as the luxury food is a perishable commodity.
At Stuttgart, pick up Luxury Food($240ea.) and follow the tradelanes to Brandenburg Border Station in New Berlin. Take the tradelane toward Planet New Berlin until you reach the Sigma 13 Jump Hole. Upon exiting the jumphole, proceed directly to the Sigma 19 Jump Hole. You should be pointed in the general direction of the jumphole upon exit of the jumphole from New Berlin. In Sigma 19, turn right until you can select Planet Hiran. Aim so the ship is pointed toward the left edge of the indicator for Planet Hiran. At about 10k out, you should be able to see Luxury Liner Hawaii. Unload the Luxury Food($1711ea.) here.
Luxury Liner Hawaii->Planet Houston
Leave the Hawaii and head for Gas Miner Naha in Sigma 13. Pick up H-Fuel($30ea.) here and proceed to Mainz in the Frankfurt system. Head around the right side of Stulingen into the gas cloud. Upon entering the cloud, you should be able to find the southern Hamburg jumphole. Not far from it is the northern Hamburg jumphole. Take the northen jumphole and head toward Planet Hamburg. From here, take the tradelanes to Planet Houston. Unload the H-Fuel($400+ea) here.
Planet Houston->Planet Manhattan
At Houston, pick up Diamonds(~$870ea) and head to Planet Manhattan. Unload the Diamonds(~$990ea).
Variations on the main route
If you prefer, you can take Lux. Goods to the Hawaii instead of taking them to the Shetland. Just follow the tradelanes to Gas Miner Ogashawa in Sigma 19 and proceed to the Hawaii from there.
You can also pick up Luxury Food from Planet Cambridge instead of Stuttgart, but the trip to anywhere but the Shetland is much longer, and the Shetland only pays about $400ea. for the Lux. Food.
You could also take the H-Fuel to Planet Curacao($510ea.), but this leaves little that you can profit on to take to the Shetland.
Passengers are a good option for either the Hawaii or Baden Baden. The best place to pick them up is Planet Manhattan. Alternately, you can use the Cambridge->Corfu run.
There are all sorts of other options possible on all runs. Figure out what works best for you, but do try to include at least one OSC base in your run.
Also, at no time are you to carry anything that is considered contraband. Even though the Hawaii has Artifacts and Synthetic Marijuana, do not carry them. If you are caught doing so you will be fined by corporate as well as by whoever catches you.
All in all, there's a lot of money to be made. Just have fun.''
See you in space.

as I said its old, but should be still good. And we NEVER smuggled ANYTHING.

I'm all for bringing back OSC. I still find Eman to be one of my most enjoyable characters. Oh, and that route Duke posted still works, although the prisoners portion has Baden Baden as a destination now, as the price of prisoners there has gone up. Too bad there's nothing to take from Baden Baden to Stuttgart. That and Cambridge->Corfu is no longer viable.
If you need a bit of assistance setting up a character, I'll be in space on and off the next couple days. Can't spend too much time online, as I need to find work before I run out of money. Ahh, real life. Isn't it fun?
I think that this would be a great idea! I do have one suggestion though...
For the OSC's that are Lux Liners, can you guys not tag yourselves OSC, but give yourselves a distinguishable name? For instance, you can name one of the Liners Gem of the Tau or Velvet Nebula.
I think that this would give it more panache.
The OSC interceptors, however, would definitely carry the [OSC] tag though.

My ship has a name, but I have not seen fit to remove my pilot's name from the character name. The Bank of Curacao, of course, is named [OSC]-Bank_of_Curacao, because it is a shared ship.
If we are going to get OSC back up and running again, I'm going to need to recreate the faction outline. Right now, there are four of us who maintain OSC characters, and I just helped another person get started on the path last night. I lost touch with him after a server crash, though. Hopefully we can get together again and finish the process. He is currently tagged and ID'd and flying an Armored Transport. Goes by the name of SpaceExplorer. (Is that you, Bjorn?)
