Barrier gate station. Home of freelancers, smugglers, and other random folks. The bar is one of the most frequently visited place on the station.
Kurumi has an apartment on the station. She rarely has any visitors, thought more frequently these days. Navy officers are her target, and she tends to ask the same things from them. To dance with her.
The bar is full with people, mostly smugglers, and freelancers. The bartender serves the costumers one after the other.
Kurumi is in her apartment, she is lays on the bed, she seems to be daydreaming. " He is late. It seems navy officers never arrive in time" she sighs.
A burst of rays is detected. A lberty assault battlecruiser shows up as if it popped out of nowhere parking in front of the barrier station. It clearly reads: " LNS South Dakota". The hangar doors open and a "guardian" sets course to the hangar doors of the station.
"This is A.S.Henderson, designation F-104, requesting to dock."
Henderson had his doubts wether the doors would open. It did take a while for the control tower to respond, but they finaly did. "Request is granted. Proceed to dock one."
He took deep breath in relief, and moved on to dock. Just as he went indside the station, the cruiser activated its cloaking device, heading back to base.
As Henderson got out of his spacecraft he straightened up his suit, and took a bottle of wine from the cargo bay. He rushed to the bar. He already was late. As he walked in the bar, all around he saw only lowlife smugglers and random freelancers. Some drinking to remember, some drinking to forget. At the corner was the bartender. Henderson quickly pulled out his rose.
-"Guess you know what I'm looking for."
"If your heart is filled with faith, then you can't fear."
" You must be looking for trouble...or for Saeki san." He chuckles. " The insane kusari lady. Apartment 24. The second corridor, then to the left." When the officer turns around, the bartened asks: " One more thing mister. What exactly did you chaps do to her? Before you showed up here, she used to visit the bar regularly. She did theaten a few fellas, and only killed one of them. She made the bar a bit "cleaner" if you catch my drift." The bartened laughs.
The apartment is pretty close to the bar. It's easy to find it, and it should not take long. Kurumi is in the kitchen, while the dinner is in process of completion.
"Oughta be the uniform, heh. Insane? No man, she's quite the package." Henderson smiles in a cheeky way. "Thanks."
Losing no time Henderson rushes to the appartment door. "Second corridor, to the left.. apartment 24.. there it is.." His heart started beating faster. He straightened up his suit again, took a deep breath and paused for a second or two. Then he lightly knocked three times on the door. There was no answer, so he pushed the door himself. Only to find Kurumi waiting for him.
It was his first time meeting her face to face, so he was quite emotional, though he was trying not to give himself.
He was a little surprised, but he went on to greet the lady; "Kurumi.. err.. hello there." He was looking quite nervous, while at the same time tenderly giving her a shy smile.
"If your heart is filled with faith, then you can't fear."
As he stepped in, he could see her for the first time. She was wearing a black dress with orange and crimson red ribbons, as decorations.
"You are late. You naval officers are all the same." She reaches out her hand." You are supposed to kiss it." She smiles. She walks towards him, putting her hands on his shoulders. "Relax. I won't murder you, okay? I'm much nicer than you'd expect. But oh well... in space...nobody can hear you scream." She laughs maniacally.
She walks around him once, scanning his clothes, and his body. " It suits you." She compliments.
"Well, I thought you'd be a bit happier about seeing me!" Henderson laughs a bit, as he bends over to kiss her hand.
While putting his arms around her waist, still holding the bottle of wine, he smiles in relief.
"Thanks. You look pretty too.." - He looked at her from her feet to her face staring into her genuinely unique eyes, trying not to make notice of them. - "The dress.. it suits you all perfectly."
Hendesron thought the hard part was over, but it was right about to begin.
He had to dance.
"If your heart is filled with faith, then you can't fear."
" I am happy, but... I like precise people. If you had arrived in time, I would be much happier" she smiles. " Pretty, you say? It takes about half an hour to squeeze into that dress" she smiles at him, looking into his eyes
When she feels his touch on her waist, she grabs his hands. " I thought you'd like to have dinner first...or you'd like to move straight to the point?" Kurumi frimly grabs his hand, and takes the bottle out of it, putting it to the table.
" I'd like to have dinner first... And since you have no choice, but to agree with me." she takes him to the dining room, where she have already set he table.
Henderson smiles in agreement. Without questioning, he follows her to the dining room. He sits down, waiting for Kurumi to sit down too. The table had several dishes, and it was beautifully made.
He reaches over to open the wine bottle, and checking his pockets for the opener, not quite finding it. "Damn.. where did I put it.." -he murmured to himself in a quiet voice, as he patted on something hard on his pocket. "..phew, there it is"
As the bottle poped open, he reaches over to kurumi; "May I?" While gently smiling and bending over to fill her glass.
"If your heart is filled with faith, then you can't fear."
" Sure, sure" she smiles, and puts the glass closer to him. After he filled her glass, she tastes the wine. " Delicious" she remarks. " Gallic wine, am I right?"
"It's traditional kusarian food mostly, I hope you like it.... It's not poisoned or anything..." She smiles, and starts eating the udon, which she had previously put in a separate bowl.
"So, you wanted to know more about me... Well here I am, ready for questioning. Ask me anything, and everything" she smiles delightfully, enjoying how confused he is. She constantly looks into his eyes, as if she would try to guess what he is thinking about.
"It is gallic indeed. I got it from.. Let's say, a friend of mine, as a gift. Though I was saving in for a special event" He smiles as he takes a sip from his glass.
As he starts eating the udon too, a delicious taste bursts into his mouth; "If my wife could cook as good as you do, I'd be the happiest man in the world.. Actualy, I'm not married!" He compliments her food as he laughs.
As he is still eating her delicious dish, he wanders; "Why would she be so friendly and nice with me? Why didn't she shoot me down in the badlands when she had the chance? Why would she go on a date with a navy officer? And most of all why would she have compassion to spare and share with me?" Only questions, but no answers.
"Kurumi.. I don't understand.. Why a navy officer, and why me in the first place?" Henderson had a confused look on his olive eyes, yet he still was quite emotonal and feeling nervous, as his heart started beating faster, awaiting her answer.
"If your heart is filled with faith, then you can't fear."
